One third of the way into the VIP career mission the throttle just switched itself to 0%. It is so quiet in the cockpit if I had not been in external view I might not have noticed it. I was not using autothrottle and was on Manual throttle setting to limit to 270 KTS. Am I doing something wrong? AT keeps hunting so I don’t like to use it.

Thanks for the suggestion but my PC24 has throttle increments and decrements even after the odd incident. It just went to 0% all of a sudden while I was in external view looking at the scenery. The power changes are sluggish to respond one way or the other but that has always been like that since SU2 for me anyway. By the end of the mission throttle response was getting more and more erratic but I put that down to the fact that the fuel has to be refilled (BUG) and the AP does not know how to compute distance and fuel consumption anymore
Same issue here with my PC and X-56 HOTAS in career mode / operations.
Auto Throttle wasn’t on / activated.
I could only move the throttles with my mouse in the cockpit. Once I moved them, via the mouse, about 20 seconds later they would go back to flight idle.
This started with City Update 11.
After the same issue with the throttles suddenly going to flight idle during another PC-24 career flight I discovered a “fix”. Let’s just call it that for now as nothing else works to resolve it.
I reassigned my throttles (X56 HOTAS System) to the throttle setting with the percentage of thrust assignment (Throttle Axis (1) 0-100% / Throttle Axis (2) 0-100%)
This recovered the control of the throttles. However, the lower end of the scaler towards going to idle was way off. I still had a way to go prior to getting at idle on my throttle but the aircraft throttles were already at flight idle condition.
Note: I did try remapping my original controls as the thrust axis but the was unsuccessful.
I accomplished this while in the career mode flight. I mention this as when I restarted FS2024 my throttle control settings reverted back to the (Axis 1 / Axis 2) assignments…
More investigation to continue. For what it’s worth. Every time there is an update to FS2024 my throttle assignments / configuration gets messed up. The City Update 11 was the only thing that happened (for me) prior to this issue starting.
All the best,
Been doing some trouble shooting with this throttle issue. I even had the same throttle cut-off anomaly happen in a C-172 in career mode.
I have a Logitech X56 (HOTAS Stick / Throttle / Pedals). I uninstalled the Logitech driver(s) and haven’t been experiencing the throttle cut-off issue / anomaly. I had downloaded these from Logitech. A Win 11 compatibility could be an issue as I am not certain that they are full / for Win 11 drivers.
All of my X-56 HW shows up in the Win 11 (Set up USB Game Controllers). When I check the functionality of my X-56 system in the win settings all the axis / inputs check out.
Maybe this may help point in a different direction if you are experiencing this issue.
Take care and all the best,
Thanks Dino, I have not experienced it again since that once but I also have not done any long career missions.
Im afraid even if it was a computer issue I am not well versed in tweaking things on it. I am dangerously uneducated in computer matters.
Thanks for your attempt to inform me though.
I tried the PC-24 today, thinking that after 8 months the major bugs would finally be fixed — but no. The autothrottle is still broken, other issues persist. Honestly, this sim feels like a complete waste of money at this point…
I am hoping that SU3 produces enough stability so they can concentrate on fixing other things like the autothrottle and the fuel consumption. I agree there are many things to fix but I have read that some fixes will come with SU3. Don’t know if this has been fixed though.
The throttle continuously switches off and the engines die. I am having to re-activate this by moving the throttle on the Bravo and magically the engines switch on again. This is happening about every 10 minutes during the flight.
If a Moderator reads this, can it please be moved to a BUG report and I will fill the necessary once it is there. This is not the first time it is almost every time I fly the PC-24.
Autothrottle does not help, switching to FMS or manual does not help.
Career, Steam PC, 2024, 5080 and honeycomb A&B
I fly the PC-24 all the time and never noticed this. A few things though, worth checking you dont have things bound in your controller multiple times. Also many things arent configured correctly on your screen shot that may affect things. For example you have vnav enabled but nothing in your flightplan to tell the aircraft the climb and decend rates. Do this manually with VS (virtical speed).
Secondly you dont have autothrottle enabled and you are overspeed, the PC-24 has a fail safe where it pitches nose up if you are overspeed with autopilot on to try and reduce speed. You should be getting audiable warnings as well.
Thirdly youve not pressurized your cabin and id recommend putting deicing on.
I am on the border of overspeed. It hadn’t alarmed. I was not climbing. ATC set my ALT at 15,000. The VNAV I put on to try and fix it but it never worked - just happened to take the picture then. As I have mentioned above, I tried AT/FMS and had to resort to using manual. Icing is switched off in my settings.
This was a simple A to B flight over the Pacific ocean, in daylight and I used FLC to get to Alt. (so I didn’t bother to put in any rates as it was VFR.)
Why do you say the cabin is not pressurised? Bleed air is on, please show/tell me what to adjust as I was under the impression it was OK - see picture
The oxygen switch to the right of the map also needs to be pressed.
Quick question what happens when you push the AT button below manual/fms knob? Does autothrottle arm and activate?
Cheers, Initially when at 19,000, before ATC told me 15,000 I had it on. I have never had the O2 on below 18,000ft before. I didn’t know to put it on any lower. This might be a left over from the days where the pressurisation was broken in both. I was so busy trying to rescue the plane. (I havent really been flying Career mode for a few months because of the unfair maintenace charges).
Yes AT activates but it hunts. I watch the fuel consumption going up and down along with the RPM. Also the time to destination, the minutes scroll up and down with the differing fuel requirements at the different RPM’s. It’s crazy because that bug makes a huge difference to the distance this plane can fly without refueling in the cockpit.
As an added defence on my part, there are a couple of folk who are reporting the same issue in the Career mode thread. But, with different throttle set ups.
I definately dont doubt the throttle maybe an issue for a number of people, and you are right with AT it definately hunts which is not good. I can normally get around 1500 nm’s out of it if there isn’t a strong headwind and I fly at mach 0.69. There is also the battery challenges on the plane which I’ve logged a bug about and its been accepted.
Wow, how do you get mach 0.69? I could only squeeze 0.60 and a full tank only got me +/- 799Nms.
You need to be travelling at 40,000 - 44,000 feet this will maximise your range and you can do much higher mach speeds. Normally I settle and 0.71 but if fuel is tight I’ll dial it back a little.
Of course, the alt. One question since you are often at that altitude, how long does the O2 last if you switch it on. Does it run out ever?
Never runs out, it just adds oxygen to the pressurised cabin while at high altitude and maintains and internal alt of around 6000-7000 feet
You need to be care of the batteries, there is a bug if you switch the lights on via a keyboard key or joystick key then the batteries drain and dont charge, you need to switch the lights on manually in the top console to prevent this.
