[PC] C172 cockpit flashing

Hello there,

I have a weird issue with the C172 (Classic and G1000 version): Some parts of the cockpit, especially the instruments on the left side of the panel and the garmin screens, are flashing for no apparent reason. In the G1000 version the ball compass unit and the panel part containing the master switches are affected.

This is happening with my new Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics and not occuring with my older GTX 1070, I have checked twice, it’s fine using the GTX 1070.

I tried the usual stuff using DDU, different graphics settings, switched off Antialias and so on but I could not find a fix by now.

PC Specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
  • RAM: 32 GB DDR4 3200 MHz
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT
  • MFS bought from Windows Store

Kind regards.

Agi

While trying to fix this I found some more steps to reproduce the issue and a workaround:

For the flickering to occur

  • pilot’s head movement must be disabled
  • the camera has to use default values (no change in position, zoom or tilt)

If the above is set the flickering appears on my AMD card when flying. Activating head movement or moving the default camera some pixels up or tilting it slightly the flashing disappears.
