PC settings guide (i7-9700k, 3080, 40-50 FPS in dense photogrammetry areas)

I’ve been having some good experiences with the new sim and thought I’d share my settings. Note that I haven’t experimented with all of the settings, not even close, but for whatever reason this is working pretty well, decent tradeoff between FPS and quality, and maybe can help some more people have a better time with the new sim.

System specs: i7-9700k, 3080 founder’s edition, 64 GB RAM, sim installed on SSD, assets stored on C: (M.2). Verizon FiOS, US east coast. Dual 1440p 144Hz Gsync monitors, MSFS on left one. Windows 11 23H2.

I have a 9700k with a 3070ti and getting a solid 30fps locked (and using LS) but I’m getting stutters. The frames don’t really budge but the sim sometimes looks like a slide show.

Just wondering if you experienced stutters and if these settings helped

Yes, I’ve had some. Going down to DLSS (from TAA) and high texture resolution (from ultra) helped make performance more robust in general.

With my 3070 i start also with 40 FPS but for example starting in KMIA and heading for the coast, frames start to drop because the VRAM gets full.

If you get “solid” 30 FPS with LS you have in reality only 15.

Sorry I meant 30fps in the sim and then 60 with LS.
