From my understanding, my device should be running the game relatively smoothly but I cannot seem to get more than 23fps even on the lowest settings cities or not even with multiple player set to off, ai off and weather set to clear skies.
When settings are set to high I get an average of 11-18 fps.
You’re on the low end side. What is you’re GPU? (Nm I see it)
Keep in mind also you are not going to get 100fps. 30 in this sim is playable.
It is my opinion system bandwidth plays a big role. The 4700 series is older gen with older architecture and memory would match probably ddr3. Depends on the mb chipset too. Same with your gpu, mem bw and how all these parts speak to each other is limiting you.
Your issue is not necessarily one thing or another it may just be that is the best you can get in its current state. Optimizations will come but really 32gig of mem and nothing older than 2 generations ago hw wise is what I would say is real world minimum.
I don’t understand how I am on the low end side ?
I’ve seen videos of other people with the same CPU and it was running great. I have also read on different forums of people also using the 4790k and they are able to run on high with over 30fps.
The GTX 960 is definitely better than the minimum requirement so it should be between minimum and recommend (I’m guessing closer to the recommended).
I am just confused because people with similar specs are reporting amazing fps on high while my computer is not doing the same.
Just curious are you running windows 10 with game mode on? I ask because alot of other game reviews say to turn it off (not for this game). This being an MS title I would imagine it would be optimized for it. I’d bet it is something in the background slowing it down.
doesnt matter what i do my CPU & GPU are not getting above 50% workload i get steady 30fps in cockpit of the a320
system
i7 8700k
RTX 2080
32GB of ram
even putting gfx settings to low i only get a 12FPS increase to 42. this game is poorly optimised for high end systems.
don’t get me wrong 30 FPS in the cockpit is good but with my hardware not even running at 50% as stated i should be able to produce alot more on high end / ultra
lets hope the patch on the 27th fixxes these issues
on a side note i got a 5 > 7 FPS increase to get my current frames by rolling back my nvidea driver to the month of may.
The network pull degrades performance and creates stutters. Turn off online everything except for online functionality lity and bing graphics.
Second, in MS , turn your frame rate to BELOW 30, 20-26, but in nvidia lock it 30. That helped me ymmv.
Object LOD is the biggest killer, esp when you are flying into areas with a lot of textured buildings.
Apply the Highonsnow hotfix to get some fps back that are lost to glass cockpit drawing.
Have a sizeable rolling cache, manually download regions,
Lastly, if you want to enjoy the scenery, be happy @ 20 almost all settings set to ultra , take those amazing screenshots. At 30k ft or hard IFR run at medium or low graphics settings for terrain and object LOD, for a better flying experience.
OP, which variant of the GTX 960 are you using? 2 GB or 4 GB?
Your are pretty much on the low-end for the game to run and probably need to turn off the photogrammetry and texture streaming features to get acceptable performance.
These features are dependent on good I/O performance which your system does not seem to have. Too little memory bandwidth. Do you run the game from a SSD or conventional hard disk?
