After the SU7 update, the pc shuts down right after the menu is loaded.
Is anyone else having or had the same problem??
I already tried the following steps:
- Playing in safe mode
- Emptying the community folder
- Cleaning all the pc parts
- Deleting the rolling cache
- Lowering the gpu voltage and clock speed to reduce the power consumption
I have:
AMD RADEON RX5700XT 8GB CHALLENGER
PHANTOM GAMING 4S Z390
i5-9600KF
4X8GB PATRIOT VIPER STEEL 3200MHz
THERMALTAKE 700W 80PLUS PSU
HYPER COOLER 212 BLACK EDITION -COOLER MASTER for cpu cooling
Thank you in advance!!
may be a better choice to limit the load on the GPU is simple limiting the fps, instead change hardware settings. Former also reset all other overclock settings , etc…

Hello @angelwert84 ,
I had exactly the same problem with my 5700xt after sim update 7.
The reason was probably that the CPU was basically not utilized, meaning slow system fan speeds while the gpu was being stressed so hard, that the hot spot temperature reached 120C when entering the menu, where the PC would just immediately shutdown. 3d mark and other stress testing software did not trigger the issue. I left my default factory OC as is(didn‘t increase allowed power draw etc.) and set the minimum/maximum fps limit with the radeon chill function for MSFS for both values to 30 fps. The issue immediately stopped. The value you want to try may differ. I currently actually use a 70 fps limit, as that is more or less the barrier where the issue occurres for me with driver version 21.11.3.

Hi guys,
I also have a 5700xt and my pc also shuts down since after sim update 7.
It generally shuts down after 20 min in the game, but I am sometimes (rarely) able to play for 1 or 2+ hours.
I tried a lot of things : updating 5700xt drivers, going back to old gpu drivers, checking temperatures, increasing fan speed to decrease temps (I tried just in case…), checking all logs, cpu/gpu/memory stress test and all ok, limiting to 30 fps with the amd chill feature.
I may try to uninstall / reinstall the sim, or reinstall Windows but it would be nice if I could avoid it…
Does anybody have the same problem ?
Thank you !
I solved my problem by upgrading my psu
