It is strange: I did another test flight yesterday and the GPU utilization was low as always but the FPS were quite ok this time. I have no idea what changed, I certainly didn‘t change any settings inside the sim. The mods were also the same
The only thing was: I had to too other stuff and therefore the sim was „waiting“ for me sitting on the intro cinematic (where you see your plane taxiing to the runway) for a few minutes - maybe this has some effect - I don’t know
To no one in particular. We have just had what I will describe as a very good update for stability so I have a big suggestion but I cannot force you to change your set ways, if you don’t want to then don’t.
Undo all your set max framerates and turn V-sync on in NVCP and off in the sim, this will limit frames to your monitor’s frame rate (including in the menus).
Rename community and then spawn at a large airport in a default 152 to recalibrate your graphics, I suggest 25fps should be the minimum you should work with and try not to get mainthread locked especially if you will be reintroducing mods. Avoid thick cloud while testing because IMO they still need optimising.
Once you have a decent set up any drop in performance thereafter will likely be down to software be it a mod or MSFS itself but at least it will be much easier to nail down.
