Performance drop

Thoughts regarding the rolling cache.

I you are mostly flying A to B it helps little however if like me you are gliding or flying within scenery it helps a lot against popping in and scenery freezes, particularly photogrammetry.
It need not be massive however it does need to be on a fast drive away from your content files and it does needs to be maintained as changes to system or sim can leave it in a confused state.

For glider and heli flyers that have 32GB or more of ram I suggest that an 8GB cache on a ram drive is perfect and is maintainance free because it will automatically clean and refresh itself at every system start. For some reason any other number needs user interaction e.g. if you only have 16GB ram a 4GB cache works well but after any PC restart it needs the size to be re inputted which is obviously not ideal. Using fast ram scenery freezes and microstutters should be history and if my set up is anything to go by there are also possible fps benefits when flying fast and/or low.

I’m definitely going to try this

Hes gone from half vsync to vsync, thats why the graph has changed

Haha  agree buddy!

Hags made no difference to me at all.
On or off

Likewise, unfortunately, HAGS On or Off made no difference on my system.

I have therefore decided to raise a request with Microsoft Flight Simulator Support for which I received the following response:

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Flight Simulator Support today.
Before doing anything else, we invite you to restore the sim to its vanilla state and try again.

I will follow instructions, hopefully we will resolve the issue soon.

Brilliant.
Thank you :+1::ok_hand:
Having said that!
Mine is in a vanilla state.

Ah! but are you vanilla vanilla or just vanilla?

I dont see no reset button

Smooth in 1/2 or full Vsync

omg, blind. thanks

Be careful and look at the lower performance values that you get.

It could set your resolution plus other factors below what you desire
just to increase performance (FPS).

Totally agree. Looking around the cockpit its a stuttery mess. I think live weather and multiplayer has somthing to do with it

I dunno if you have the Space for it but I have always had micro stutters especially in VR (oculus2).
But I had a spare SSD drive 400 Gig , put that in my PC and set that (what ever number you give it) as my rolling Cache folder at 200 GIG. Took about 15 min to set but NO stutters now.
