Performance poor in rain and dark when turning on landing lights in VR

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Running VR - initially way better - but near the end of a flight in bad weather after turning on landing lights audio started to stutter and frame rate dropped to the point where I was no longer able to control the aircraft.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Career mode flight in the dark in the rain.
  2. Flew for about 50 miles
  3. Turned on landing lights in the rain after being dinged for not having them on (will open up another report for that).

Okay - spent some time on this - issue seems to actually be the meta app. My issue above was apparently just bad timing. All flights end this way after about 10-15 min since upgrading to NVIDIA 572.16. Was able to replicate issue w/o MSFS and just the meta app.

Seems video encode degrades over time and ends up consuming 100% GPU.

Opening a ticket with Meta.

Got a partial fix from Meta (performance improved but did not last beyond 20 min):

partial fix:

Go to control panel->system->display->graphics
Add desktop app
find OculusClient.exe (default location: c:\Program Files\Oculus\Support)
Add
Select GPU Preference: High Performance (and your card)

Definitely better performance for about 20 min.
