Performance Regression Since SU4 Beta 2 - Stutters, Sluggish Panning, Lower FPS

This is getting ridiculous.. This is at Asobo EHRD TLOD 100, OLOD 130., in the Fenix A319, 100fps (Freesync+vsync in amd Adrelin) and this is what i get, enormous fps drops when switching views and its also very stuttery, this was not the case on earlier SU4 betas (started a bit in the second SU4 beta..) i’'m honestly lost for words, how can i ever get this sim to run smoothly on my hardware?

Opt out of the beta for now.

My mistake: I meant the third ver. of beta4.

I don’t mean to condescend but you are never dropping below 50fps while slamming the camera around as fast as possible in a way you never would in normal use. That’s higher than my locked rate. I would consider a stutter to be a full freeze even for a tenth of a second, not a slip in smoothness. Are you disrupted in flight by these issues?

Same here, FPS are not so bad (I dont fly carreer), but stutters are awfull.

Intel 13900KF, Asus 4090 ROG, 64 GB Gskill. Nothing OC.

I think it’s better to go back to the previous version of the first su4 beta for performance and leave it like that

I have found that every new release of the sim brings stutters for me, but a solution that has worked for me most times is to clear all the caches (the various NVidia caches, MSFS rolling, etc) using one of the online tools/add-ons and I also have erased the MSFS scenery indexes (which then get rebuilt upon first launch of the sim). I no longer update NVidia drivers as often or the windows OS as often as I used to and stick with NVidia drivers that have worked in the past. I have also now started to lock my frames in the sim and that has also really helped with smoothness and limiting stutters. Lastly I use dynamic settings on the graphics options (so the in-built option but also the external option many people use)

clearing caches on updates is in general a good thing, but in this case it doesn’t help either. The performance and VRAM usage has in fact significantly degraded with 1.6.7.0. I have of course cleared all the caches like I always do on updates, but the regretion is obvious and measurable. It became nearly unplayable. I abstain from beta now and how it gets fixed with the next release.

Might not be visible but the switching of views are very stuttery.

Bring back 1.6.3 and fix WASM. Release as SU4 final. Most of everyone would be happy…..finally

Don’t forget the jetways

Yes. 1.6.3 with WASM and Jetways and the Lights of the Aircraft. Performance was perfect.

Yes. Its better correct. But they should only change the performance thing back to the Beta 1

The Swap File Problem is so stupid… I do not want to restart the SIM after every flight…

The 1.6.3.0 version was very performant, but also very buggy. It comes as no surprise that the bug fixes are eating away a part of the performance gains. Numerous functions and features were missing due to the bugs and therefore did not require any performance. We will see what remains in the end.

Swap File problem? i have mine set to 48GB and never had problems..

My Swap does not go higher than 13-14Gb and initial FPS are very good for my system with outdated for this game i75930K (up to 80-90, but generally 60 in the sky and 25-30 at a big airports). Yes, more stutters when panning in this build, but OK, I can cope it. However in every flight now there are moment FPS drops to 3-9 and does not fully recover itself. This may happen even if I just stay at a gate, with or without Live traffic. If I go to the settings and come back to the flight FPD may recover for another 10-30 minutes. Once I’ve done few night go-arounds with Live traffic at OMDB and everything was about 30-70 FPS until I stopped at the gate - I switched to external view and FPS dropped to 7-9 and started fluctuating btw 7-9 and 20-38? the plane was just staying. I noticed that with HAGS OFF and FSR I have better results for FPS and longer periods before my FPS starts dropping.

Performance is fine for me in this Beta build. No stutters, no FPS drops. On the other hand no VRAM improvement over SU3. 5800X3D, RTX4090, 64GB RAM

I don’t have any stutters or lagging with this build but it’s definitely using more resources than previous build and especially now the Main Thread.

I’m on i7-1400, RTX5070

It seems worse for those using AMD from what I keep seeing
