Performance Regression Since SU4 Beta 2 - Stutters, Sluggish Panning, Lower FPS

Unfortunately, nothing has changed. I only noticed the increased usage of my 4090. The problems are not solved

I have a feeling it is a bit better but i still got stutters when switching views. But again it is not that agressive anymore but still present!

.31 is great for me, back to .29 levels of performance and smoothness!

Bit better i agree

its still the same stuttery mess, nothing changed, hell. it even became worse. switching views is impossible, even just dragging with the mouse to simply look around. VRAM usage is still not on the right path and even if i would lock my native fps at 30 (5080, 7800X3d 64GB ram btw) with DLSS X2 or X3 it will still be stuttery and sluggish and jittery, even had a few sound crackles just now. i am on a clean windows installation with the newest drivers and windows updates. the sim is straight up not enjoyable right now. i had a few times i just rage quited it because i cba with the performance on a system like mine. not sure what happened over the course of SU4, but it keeps getting worse and tbh, even SU3 performs better now. SU4 beta 2 was the best performance i ever had.

1.6.31.0 is by far the worst performing in VR for me. I did a clean reinstall of my graphics driver and cleared all caches and there no improvement. I can’t even maintain 37.5 fps with motion reprojection anymore unless I enable OpenXR Toolkit turbo mode PLUS Nvidia low latency in-sim. Even then I barely maintain a stuttery 37.5 fps. Lots of stuttery rubber-banding as I turn my head left and right. Completely unusable now. However several builds prior I was able to look around and everything was silky smooth. I have RTX 5090, 9800x3d and 64 GB RAM.

I have to turn Terrain LOD up to 400 now with 1.6.31.0 in order to eliminate aggressive photogrammetry pop-in at close range that I didn’t have several betas back with it on 200. But this introduces stuttering. If I turn the latest beta down to 10, the sim runs smoothly again with OpenXR Toolkit turbo turned off. But the scenery is rubbish.

I used to get 130 fps before entering VR. Then it dropped to 37.5 (which seems excessively low when activating VR) Now it runs at only 85-90 fps and drops to 25 FPS in VR rendering motion reprojection useless.

I agree with that. The performance with SU4 Beta Build 2 was the best!

Stuttering in VR with TLOD 400 is normal in my experience. Maybe your settings are too high? I think you have to live with the pop-in or stutters, can’t have the best of both worlds unfortunately.

I’ve been looking for this post for a while, and it’s been moved here.

Game has Stuttering every second or so, not flying smooth anymore after updating to Su4 from beta, getting the same issues on Ps5 Pro funnily enough
