Oh snap. Brave new world then I guess. Although I don’t see how bad streaming could cause such insane spikes.
I guess so. I don’t think it was ever this bad though. And some other airports also run terrible while LOWI, which also looks great and is very detailed, runs pretty amazing. No PG around there though I guess.
Confirmed, LOWI is not in a PG area and has excellent performance.
Strange..
Had the most amazing flight from Fuji (RJGO) to Tokyo via Yokohama earlier. Amazing visuals and flawless performance UNTIL you get to the transition from Yokohama to Tokyo, near where that illuminated bridge is. That’s where the PG stutters started.
The dense PG area leading up to that was flawless, basically same frametimes as if I was flying in the Alps. It seems like some PG areas go much harder on the Cpu than others, despite what looks to me like similar quality and number of objects rendered. It’s like there’s a hard transition in this area.
Can anyone replicate this? This is with GA flying quite low, 100-1000 feet.
I’ll give it a try when I’m back at my PC.
Update: Unfortunately, I was not able to replicate your issue. I flew from Yokohama to Tokyo using the Beechcraft G36 at 500ft, TLOD=300. Performance was very good and had no stutters.
However, as I mentioned in another thread, these PG issues, and they are definitely present, seem to affect users differently and depend on available resources, location, graphics settings, etc.. Difficult at times to replicate. You could fly the same route again without issue. Hard issue to diagnose.
Also I did my test after the latest update so who knows if that made a difference.
