Periodic Stutter about every 70Sec

Recently (around October) I observed new stutters when running MSFS.

My findings: The stutters occur periodically about every 70 Sec.
Changing MSFS setting do not solve the root cause (I also tested GeForce Experience MSFS settings).
Finally monitoring performance (using task manager @ performance, Network Window) cyclic spikes at about 70 Sec. periods occur. At the same time also, CPU and GPU have a load spike. And the spikes are synchronous with MSFS stutters. Further the spikes occur also when MSFS is off!

When I disabled the Ethernet controller MSFS runs perfectly smooth as I was used to.
Due to group play, I checked if an App/tool eventually introduces spikes but nothing pointing to it.
Analyzing with the resource monitor the following programs covered the spike curve:
Spoolsv.exe (no printer queue is active), dasHost.exe and svchost.exe
All windows 11 programs!

Anybody also having this problem? If yes, was this introduced with one of the latest system updates or?
Thanks for feedback and/or advice.

Do you have Volanta running in the background? Possibly with auto-saving enabled?

I had a similar problem and have helped a couple people in these forums discover stutters caused by dashost.exe communicating with another network device. In my case, it was an Amazon Fire TV Stick, but I have heard of the same issue with Smart TVs. Creating a firewall rule blocking incoming and outgoing communication between dashost.exe and the ip address of the TV stick solved the stutters completely.

It’s worth looking into. You can get a free version of Glasswire and it will tell you what ip addresses dashost.exe is communicating with at the time the stutters happen.

Wow, thank you very much for all the very helpful support.
Thanks’ for the Glasswire hint and info.
I discovered that the “connection” to the Color Laser Jet MP creates the issue. Switching the printer off line solves the stutter issue!
Glasswire is a very powerful tool and showed other potential problems. I am puzzled that small network spicks on a 24 “core” machine can create stutter at MSFS running on W11.
I wonder if this is W11, AMD core or on what dependent/specific!

I know, it is mysterious. I used to have the issue with Windows 10 and Elite Dangerous, when I played Elite (much less demanding) and MSFS during the same period. It happened in both games. Curiously, the problem happened for games that depended on internet connection to continue. With offline games or offline MSFS, stutter never happened. I used Intel, so I don’t think it’s CPU brand dependent.

Good to know that Intel and AMD CPUs as well as W10 and W11 have the same behavior.
Looks like Microsoft should have a closer look at the issue!
