I had the same issue and a re-install fixed it
if you update your nvidia driver now, how will you be able to distinguish if an upcoming patch from Asobo will change anything ! you will not know if the fps change comes from the driver or MSFS2024.
Hi everyone, just a quick update regarding the recent posts (NVIDIA-Driver): I have thoroughly tested the latest NVIDIA driver, and unfortunately, the memory issue still persists unchanged on my system. While a driver update optimizes hardware data routing, it simply cannot fix an architectural memory leak within the engine where outdated texture and model data are not cleared from the VRAM in time.
You had stuttering issue and full reinstall fixed it? Community just dragged over from old one? Any other specifica to know for reinstall or we simply uninstall and install via steam?
Anyone experienced any improvement with new driver update ?
There are a lot of people finding a final solution. All cases where a clean install helped, or the ones identified an addon as root cause.
As I said - at least 10 to 15 different issues are discussed in this thread. Some of them have solutions, some workarounds, and some are open so far.
I would be glad to see them, but there is not very much substantial so far. If someone really has analysed his issue, he usually found a solution or workaround. Most posts just describe an issue, but no measures to narrow down the issue.
@Protestwelle is blaming a memory leak. If the Simulator starts to eat up RAM or VRAM, it can easily be seen in the FPS Window or in system monitoring tools like task manager or ProcessExplorer. Is there something we can see?
What a surprise, we are here talking about significant issues on pc and they release update to fix consoles only ![]()
Yes, backed up community folder, did a full re-install and then added the community folder back, no more stutters
As I understand it’s for all platforms. Although memory problems where specific of ps5 and Xbox maybe this build helps with the stutters in airports etc, don’t know.
I’m tracking telemetry with Task Manager and DevMode, and the trend is quite clear. On a native 4K/DLAA flight (90 FPS cap), VRAM crept from 12.2 GB during cruise to 13.1 GB at the gate. Even with the GPU sitting at a relaxed 50% load, the footprint only moves in one direction.
While a rise at the gate is expected due to airport density, I suspect the lack of asset flushing indicates inefficient memory management over longer sessions. I’m a scientist, not a developer, but providing this reproducible data should help to identify these structural issues.
The fact that the SU 5.1 Beta release notes specifically list memory management and stability as core focus areas only reinforces my suspicion that the engine’s asset-flushing mechanism has been suboptimal. Since you mentioned these issues are easily visible in monitoring tools: which sustainable solutions do you see for this behavior? Can you precisely name the underlying architectural problems causing this creep, and do you feel they have been solved sustainably by the suggestions provided in this forum?
I can confirm that on the 5080, driver version 596.49 runs much smoother, with stutters almost completely gone.
On my machine, 5.1 beta has all but eliminated the panning stutters. 99% fixed. I’ll take it. Hope everyone else having the issue has the same outcome.
New nvidia driver hasn’t fixed anything. KTEB stutters are utterly unbearable. 5090 Matrix, 9950X3D.
Went from 210 tlod to 100 tlod. Doesn’t make a bit of difference.
Also. The panning stutter that wasn’t an issue on su4 has now returned.
(No. There’s nothing wrong with my PC).
I just have to correct you. SU5.1 was released for all versions, not just consoles. Not that it fixed anything on PCs but perhaps something is in the works.
No, it’s just the same.
Let’s hope they take our issue as seriously. The sim is just ruined for me since SU5.
Not on Beta.
Downloaded latest Nvidia driver and enable V-Sync
Flew in the US, no stutters and crisp clear terrain
Moved back to the UK, same aircraft, stutters and fuzzy terrain
Surely this must be a server issue?
In both locations, had around 100FPS.
Def not a server issue… the new SU5.1 beta seems to address the performance and memory leak issue, hoping it fixes it.
