1. Start a flight at Sky Harbour Airport, Phoenix AZ
2. Fly over city
3. Photogrammetry is missing (as opposed to FS2020)

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Phoenix Arizona scenery has been greatly modified in 2024 and looks nothing like the city in real life. Flight sim 2020 had it modeled well with buildings and mountains (like Camelback). 2024 is missing buildings, ballparks and south mountain radio towers

1.take off from runway 27 at kphx
2.look at the downtown buildings
3. Try not to throw up

What photogrammetry is missing? A screenshot would help me understand.

I used to live in Chandler and the ground detail looks ok. I even managed to find the house we lived in.

Last time it was all autogen. For example, try to find the Hyatt Regency with the signature turning restaurant on the top for example.

Can confirm, no photogrammetry.

Definitely no PG since day 1. And it is true for the entire valley (Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, etc)

I really wish they would acknowledge this issue. It’s kinda concerning a city this big is lacking photogen.

I could understand maybe if they were updating it to a newer scan, at least they should say that. But man does it just look sad compared to a 4 year old sim that had it day one.

Hopefully this is fixed in a world update or patch.

It’s logged as bug, so they acknowledge it. They don’t have to include it in a World Update, as the data is already there (see FS2020).

Just checked it, still the same. Not really priority right now, I guess. On the other hat, I had 45 fps in VR on checking. Not bad at all.

I just flew over the valley and it is still not corrected. No Cardinals State Farm Stadium. Tall, dense trees covering the mountain peaks. I do see radio towers on South Mountain.

Good to know that it has been logged as a bug. My only guess is that it’s actually a bug, or they’re collecting new data as the last photogen was kinda old at that point, seeing the 10 / 303 interchange was not fully built still.

Hoping maybe if it is new data, they expand out towards Buckeye, and parts of Mesa / Chandler that have changed quite a bit and were autogen.

Wishful thinking though. I’ll be happy to just see it return one day.

Finally got the pack to fix KPHX, but the city is still not correct. Generic buildings in place of Footprint center and Chase Field as example.
