You know I think that MSFS2020 has a future. But my only beef with them is they really need to work on the photogrammetry. It amazes me that you can’t even sightsee with out seeing rocks and boulders coming out of the ground and everyone is saying turn of photogrammetry. It quite ridiculous because I did not know that cities and landscaped do not have any vegetation. With out photogrammetry MSFS landscape like horrible, Asobo if you are listening get rid of BING and try something new BING is not working or please fix this issue or please Microsoft find another company that can get this right. Thank God I still have preparv5 to fly in.
Photogrammetry works fine. The problem is that you do not have enough internet bandwidth to use it. If it looks like rocks and boulders instead of buildings and trees, that is a sign that it is not streaming quickly enough. If your connection will not support high speed data, it would be best to turn photogrammetry off. Do not turn off “data” completely - just photogrammetry.
If it looks “awful” with photogrammetry off, that would be a sign that your connection does not have enough bandwidth to do even basic streaming. If your ISP provides high speed data and it does not work, there is something wrong with your network settings or perhaps your router.
Yup I gotta agree photogrammetry is a godsend. It’s so hard for me to fly P3d anymore because of how gorgeous MSFS is.
If you fly Pittsburgh, PA in any other sim it looks awful. I remember my first flights in FSX and thinking “this is ugly as hell… this is NOT Pittsburgh”. The entire area around KPIT in FSX and p3d (without payware scenery) looks like farmland which is not at all how it looks. It barely has a downtown skyline, no north shore, no stadiums… it’s lame. ORBX fixes this with it’s global scenery that at least makes the city look populated and dense, but it’s not “real”.
In MSFS, it looks crazy real. You have the downtown skyline complete with the UMPC building and it’s logo, the stadiums are there… on an ILS approach to runway 32 I can make out Robinson, Settler’s ridge, moon twp… I can even make out the Mall at Robinson, and the shops near it (walmart for example)…
If your photogrammetry isn’t working, check your bandwidth and internet speeds. There has to be something wrong that isn’t the fault of Microsoft/Asobo
The quality of PG differs from town to town. Last week I flew over Barcelona and San Francisco and those look pretty good. Paris and London for instance are a mess. So I guess the original shipped PG cities look good and since Asobo uses another source for the WU’s PG, it has become worse.
Well I don’t know why In the world Asobo would create something like this that would have to go off bandwidth I find it ridiculous and I paid $127.00 for this LOL……I have high speed internet I shouldn’t be having these issue with photogrammetry. But at times I will get a pop up saying that my band width is low which is kinda off odd and I just ignore it. Sorry this is a disaster just my opinion….
What do you call High Speed Internet ?
Can you share what part of the world you live in and what TYPE of Internet .
have you run “speedtest.net”
Note: The Browser based speed test may not reflect true high speed on a fast Connection.
A better measurement can be got from the APP version.

Your photogrammetry looks terrible.
Mine (and plenty of others’) looks great.
I’ll leave you to ponder on that for a while.
