Physically Driven Crepuscular Rays (Sun Rays)

Wishlist:

Please improve crepuscular rays to be more physically driven and variable, rather than mostly static or uniform.

Request:

  • Ray strength and visibility should depend on cloud thickness, gaps, sun angle, and atmospheric particles (haze, humidity, dust).

  • Much stronger and more defined in conditions where they are dramatic in real life (low sun, broken clouds).

  • Subtle or nearly absent when conditions do not support them.

  • Smooth transitions instead of on/off behavior.

Correctly modeled crepuscular rays greatly enhance depth, scale, and realism, especially during sunrise, sunset, and dynamic weather situations.
