Physics and Aerodynamic on Directional Stability - Part 2 - Getting to the Root of the Problem

Just to add something I think it has maybe gone without much noticing. It is needed to artificially simulate increasing Dynamic Pressure effect on the controls, since your Joystick Springs can’t simulate that unfortunately! It’s a shame FFB Joysticks are still something so rare nowadays. While that doesn’t exist, the Simulator will have to find a way to make us believe the controls are harder to move.

But this has been confused with another thing added in MSFS2020, which is a built in Delay into all Inputs that gets translated to the controls. As a user noticed, on the ground the Yoke react instantly with the Joystick, and in the air, there’s a delay when you are in the air.

This I believe is something that they added before creating the “Reactivity” Slider in the Control Page, and forgot to remove from the Code. The Reactivity now does exactly that, and you can control it to your liking.

To remove this Built in Delay in all planes, under flightmodel.cfg [AIRPLANE_GEOMETRY] Section, add the line " controls_reactivity_scalar = 20 "
