Piaggio P.180 Avanti II by FlightFX

Thanks TK. Suspected as much to be honest. I have never even loaded the Citation so have zilch when it comes to experience. The rest of the avionics and systems look fine, but I worry about the time needed to become comfortable with the FMS. The Lear is a sensible alternative but the Avanti gets to me in a wallet tingling sort of way…

yeah my first fms took time also. there are many youtube videos to get started with a FMS.
take your itme, start with the CJ4 or also the P180 why not. very nice aircraft.

Love the Avanti. Went to it directly without any CJ4 time. If you are familiar with FMS/FMC operations in general, you may be able to pick the Proline up rather quickly. Love the 35A as well, but single-pilot in a LearJet with a single GTN is not really my idea of fun, the workload is too high. A dual GTN would be nice but where to put it on the panel? Avanti is super sweet, just right!

Ask and you shall receive! As of a week ago, the 35A now has dual bezels for the 530/430 and 750/650:

Have the MP version from my many Xbox days, so eventually it will find its way to me LOL!

Never ha e used a GTN within the cockpit here, I run a 750/650nxi combo from a 15 inch touchscreen and it is just great. If I am honest, it is also the first reason that I asked for any potential for using the TDS in the Avanti as being able fo tap that screen in a 1 to 1 representation is just so good. I still love the Avanti though and can see myself getting it as a mid term challenge just to use that FMS. It will be quite a step change, but the Starship might be appearing on long finals quite soon and that will get me tapping that touchscreen again

I had been using the PM50 on Xbox for a long time and only recently bought the TDS for my new PC. Is it true that there is no direct import from SimBrief? Or have I missed that? Only been a week and I am still finding my way around it, but I may go back to the PM50 if there is no SimBrief import, which I should have checked before buying the TDS.

Relax Nikita. TDSs imports Simbrief plans wonderfully. Use it whenever I fly. Easier to check out youtube or similar than for me to explain exactly how right at this time. My line manager is about to feed me (to the Lions possibly)

Almost finished with my world tour with the P-180. Great plane for a world tour because of the avionics and the range:

I wouldn’t stress too much about the FMS, once you learn it the skill transfers to a lot of aircraft. There’s a great video on YouTube with the Cj4 that goes through an FMS setup. Also once you learn it, going from cold and dark to ready to taxi doesn’t take long

Dons FlightFX QA Hat briefly

We also provide a multi-state capability in the EFB if time is short. Gets you up and running in a snap.

what app is that?

Very Nice! Looking into a World tour myself. Are you able to list the Airports you went to? This looks like a good starting point for my tour and the help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks to you all for your help here. The Avanti has got to me and if I am finally to succumb to the joys of FMS I think I would rather like to do it in the Piaggio. It really looks delightful.

I am using Volanta (free version).

That’s amazing! Thanks!

Not flown this beaut for a while, so not sure if there has been an update since last time I did or what. But for some reason I could not trim for level flight at anything above about 230kts. I was with full nose-down trim (it had run out of clicks) but it needed more. A lot more in fact. Spent the entire flight porpoising and trying to hold my yoke forwards. Not nice! I am positive it was not like this last time. Any ideas?
