Piaggio P.180 Avanti II by FlightFX

Does the TOGO button do anything here other than set the flight director for the initial climb?

No, that’s all it is, at least at rotate - it just gives a pitch up target for the pilot to cue on. Once above 400’ it couples and cues to the Flight Mode selected.

Here’s an uncut video showing my FMS setup, EFB W&B, trim and takeoff. I only get Vr from the FMS, no V1 or V2, trim is set nose up at the limit of the green band. TOGA activated and my control curve for my joystick. Tried rotating around 85-90 like you, nothing, rotating at 115 as set by the FMS, full elevator gets nothing, holding full back starts rotating around 130IAS. Once airborne it’s fine. In the past I used all of KFLL’s 10L 9000ft and ran off the end of the runway at like 160 KIAS.

The aircraft calculates the CG differently than MSFS 2024. In order to do a normal take off I divide the weight of the passengers by 2. I place one half of the weight in the passenger area and I add the other half to the cargo weight. This normally rebalances the CG to be with in range every time.

There is still a native 2024 coming, it will fix this issue.

The CG is withing the range shown on the EFB. I believe the range is 8% to about 40% and I usually end up around 17-25% depending on load

Ooops, wrong thread.

The planes EFB or the sim standard EFB?

I did a quick look in the FlightFX Discord and didn’t immediately see a support thread on CG, so yeah, might be worth asking there to see if they can help debug, even though they are clear full 2024 support is not available yet.

I don’t believe the P180 has a W&B page in their EFB it just uses the default EFB for that.

It would be a good improvement to have a W&B app on the aircraft EFB

The Citation X is great, import Simbrief fuel, pax and cargo and you’re set

They have promised this since so long time

Still the CG isn’t accurate. If anyone is finding that they are too forward heavy to take off add half the weight of the passengers to the cargo.

FlightFX won’t provide any support for the Piaggio 180 in 2024. It’s still a native 2020 aircraft.

Ok, then this is definitely a potential issue. If you are using the in sim MSFS2024 EFB, there is no guaranteed function with a native MSFS2020 plane. I’m fact I would expect issues. W&B and CG were even a mess natively in 2020 on some planes, so trying to use the EFB that doesn’t have backwards compatibility is probably no bueno too.

Hopefully the 2024 plane is not far away.

just tried that out, I also moved the empty CG to 45%. 2 pax at 170lb and 400lb in the cargo area, full aft stick at the 115 Vr, nose started coming up around 122 instead of 130 like earlier, so it seems to be a CG issue for me

Yeah it’s been a bad ride buying 2020 aircraft right before 2024 came out. Lots of planes pretty much abandoned now, although they still fly.

FlightFX has promised a new native 2024 build of the P.180 and the HJet.

Well not sure how i managed to get it to work 2 times, but getting the FP in the cdu to show up on the screens is a seriously impossible task.

Edit: Seems i worked it out. As long as i enter the arrival airport on the LEGS page it starts to work and aknowledge what i put on the FPLN page.

I’ve never had that issue are you entering a departure and destination airport in the flight plan page? I do that then enter my departure procedure if I have one, then waypoints to my arrival procedure if I have one. Never had an issue getting it to show on the MFD

Yep. Entered and reentered and tried Sb import etc. It won’t work unless i go into the legs page and enter the destination airport there. After that i can use the Flightplan page again and set up routes and airways without issue.
I am on FS24 btw.
Works with that workaround. So all good. Currently enjoying her over the UK
