Piaggio P.180 Avanti II by FlightFX

This was discussed on their Discord.

You likely have the plane downloaded and not streamed. I think users had to go back to streamed and then try the download of the plane again.

I haven’t seen this, but I’m 100% streamed on all marketplace planes.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve downloaded everything I can since that feature was introduced (SU3?). Testing time!

Edit: That fixed it, thanks!

Late to the party here and still on MSFS 2020 but I just picked up this lovely aircraft and enjoying it immensely. Couple of things. Is there any way to make the the PFD/MFD/FMS screens any brighter? I’ve maxed out the knobs on Captains side panel but they still look dim and washed out in the daytime.
Is there any way to determine time and/or distance to TOD, I realize there’s a map marker but aside from this?

My MFD/ADV button on the FMS does not appear to be working so I can’t advance the map to the subsequent waypoints, i.e., to visualize arrival approaches and procedures. Any solution for this?

Any way to declutter or further populate the MFD?

Thanks in advance for any input.

I don’t think there’s a way to make screens brighter other than turning the brightness knobs in the cockpit. Do you use HDR? That may make your overall image feels washed.

About the second question, there are buttons on the center MDF that control the upper and lower format. You can display route information on the upper format, and if I’m not mistaken, there’s an ETA to next waypoint and also TOD.

Thanks for your reply. No, I don’t use HDR. Yes, I see the info text lines on upper MFD but it does not include distance/time to TOD, just the waypoints. I’m just a little surprised that all the functionality I’ve mentioned is not available in this FMS unit but is included in the almost identical CJ4 Working Title stock version.

Sorry, only just seen this.

Yes, you can monitor distance to TOD - see picture for how to select the option that allows you to do this (VNAV). Also link to the FMS-3000 manual is here : http://corporatejetsolutions.com/PDF/Avionics%20Manuals/Collins%20FMS-3000%20Operator’s%20Guide.pdf

Excellent! Thanks for your very useful reply and the link which I shall certainly study further.

And here’s a couple of screenshots of flight this afternoon KMDW-KSTL showing how I set up. On the MCDU, you select “ MFD Menu” to get the display you see here - select VNAV as shown and On the MFD - in green you have a distance and approx time to your TOD point…

Since we’re on the subject of the FMS, I saw older posts in this thread that reference importing from SimBrief but my P180 doesn’t even have those menu items, so I can’t do it. Has that been removed at some point? Those posts are from over a year ago.

Simbrief import works fine - you need to go to “Route Menu” then “Recall Flightplan”, off the top of my head - I’ll double check tomorrow morning and confirm my recall is correct,

The entire Route Menu is grayed out for me. None of those options are functional.

It’s Index > Route Menu > FPLN Recall right?

I don’t think the P.180 has had SimBrief route import for at least the last version or two - however, if you’re on PC you can use the SimBrief EFB app to import both route and weight data to any aircraft that supports importing from the default EFB, which the P.180 does. That said, there’s currently a bug in the Proline avionics that breaks this route import especially if/when an airway is used. Working Title fixed this in SU6 beta but FFX needs to implement the fix on their implementation of the WT Proline system.

I was beginning to suspect that was the case, since even the manual doesn’t mention SimBrief.

I’ve noticed some strange behavior with an imported flight plan. For instance, after using the EFB to import from SimBrief, it doesn’t take the alternate destination, and it can’t be entered manually.

I could just, you know, use the FMS and avoid all this, but I’m lazy most of the time.

Yeah same - hopefully FFX can implement whatever fix WT is shipping in SU6 quickly.

No, I’m not in the habit of making things up… Simbrief working well for me. Selecting FlightPlan Recall brings in my flight plan - of course I Imported weights from Simbrief on the EFB first…

Xbox Series X

Odd that it’s greyed out for you. Does the simbrief import of payload work for you (using aircraft EFB)?

Yeah I’m very confused by this… importing weights with the FlightFX EFB works just fine. Importing using the SimBrief app in the standard EFB also works fine, with a couple caveats like I mentioned. I can’t seem to import using the FMS itself.

Which sim are you in and, if 2024, is your aircraft streamed or downloaded and installed locally?

MSFS2024, streamed, Xbox Series X.

Real confused then because I, and many other users both here and on their discord, no longer have this option. Also streamed in MSFS 2024.
