Piaggio P.180 Avanti II by FlightFX

Yeah, seems as if Xbox users are given the choice of SimBrief integration or Career compatibility but can’t have both.

I got the same stupid answer. Sent reply it doesn’t work. PC and Xbox not working so it is not just one. I wonder if ps5 is the same if it has simbrief integration. Probably not

I would assume (with a high degree of certainty) that PS5 only has access to the 2024 version (without SB import) since a 2020 version would not have existed on the PS5.

Got this reply today about our issue -

"There was something that broke on msfs side in SU5. It has since been rectified in SU6 beta and now needs to be added to the plane. We will push another update to address this as soon as this can solidified.

In the meantime I would suggest to you and others you encounter that they use this site that MS built for a similar simbrief type experience until this gets rectified. :)"

Thanks for sharing this…

Has this addon been brought up to msfs2024 standard yet? it’s a great addon but it has shown its age.

Yes they released the native 2024 version several months ago. (March)

I’m still flying it in 2020 and love it. One of my favorite planes in any sim.

Fuel flow is a lot higher (+50 lb/hr) than the indicated charts (manual v. 1.6.1) on both maximum cruise and maximum range in career mode using the FS24 model, and I cannot get any range out of the plane. Am I missing something or is there a bug?

I am using the P.180 in career mode (sim handles weight, CG, etc.)

First I tried the maximum range power, 2000 RPM, ISA +10C at an altitude of 30K carrying 4500Kg (10K lbs) where a torque of 41.7 is supposed to have a FF of 216 per engine, well, I was consuming 270 per engine. (chart in page 28)

Next, I tried the maximum cruise power, 2000 RPM, ISA +10C at an altitude of 27K carrying 4500Kg (10K lbs) where a torque of 90 is supposed to have a ff of 379 per engine per hour, again I was well consuming +440. (chart in page 21)

Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong? Or is the weight and CG loaded by the game EFB cause additional trim drag or consumption of a sort? Is it the unrealistic savage wind an turbulence of the career mode?

I can’t figure out what is happening and would appreciate some help.
Cheers

What’s that temperature? “ISA +10C at 30000ft”?

It has been a while that MSFS2024 calculates turboprops a bit too high, you’re doing nothing wrong imho. It’s with the core game not the add-on imho.

Outside temperature at the specified altitudes was also within the range specified in the manual.

I almost always fly turboprops and I have never seen anything in the sim as wrong as P.180 when it comes to fuel consumption. On ground idle it consumes 212 lbs per engine! Under these circumstances its effective range in very limited.

Yeah definitely a bug imho, that one sould be 100 lbs less an hour…

But is also a port from msfs2020 into 2024.

Not so, they released a 2024 native version earlier this year.

Sure but that doesn’t mean that everything was converted correctly though.

I will try to file a bug report with FlightFX later this week.

That would imply the bug isn’t present in the 2020 version - is that the case?

There are already a couple support tickets open on their discord server for higher than expected in-flight fuel burn. There’s been no indication they are planning to make any changes, however.

I don’t seem to recall one open for fuel burn on the ground.

Thanks informing us. Then there is no need to open a new ticket for the same issue. I may need to open one for the ground idle FF.
