Pilot keeps asking for same destination on ATC ifr plan

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

When flying eg KSEA to KSFO the pilot keeps asking for new destination which is the same as already flying, so clearance is repeated to same cruise altitude even if already at approach

B-787

Every time and typically starts after already descended to eg 3000 ft from FL370

an annoying bug, that needs to be fixed urgently!

We need to prioritise this bug. I can think of several solutions for the AI ATC Assistance to actually be useful for this for the game developer to approach:

ATC AI Assistance should initiate and auto-respond to any communications EXCEPT for the following commands:

  1. Request new IFR Clearance or a destination change. (This is because it should be up to the player to initiate an IFR clearance, not the AI to use it just because it’s available in the ATC menu).
  2. Request pushback/engine start up/taxi (This is because the player is in control on when to start pushback/engine start up or ready to taxi).

Everything else, such has Frequency handover, prepare to take off and switch to the Tower frequency, and RESPONDS to clearances should be handled with the AI auto-respond. But except for those two above, the AI ATC assistance should not touch or initiate themselves.

On top of this, we need general fixes to the in-game ATC improvement. Such as support for clearing for descent at TOD based on the flight plan. Not all of us fly on a GA where the clearances can be done late. On an A350 large jets, TOD as much further as we need time to descent over larger distance. So either the ATC should detect the descent clearances based on the imported flight plan, or they can sense from the plane’s TOD marker and clear for the descent that way as well.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes, exactly same issue, tho in my case it’s on flights with no prior flight plan too.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Flightplan with origin (EDAE) and destination (UKKK), and one single waypoint (EPRZ). After loading the flightplan shown on the EPR (“IPad” thingy) was only showing to EPRZ, missing the last leg to UKKK, so I clicked “send to avionics” a second time after loading into the aircraft on the runway. The behaviour observed by OP did then start happening until I deactivated the AI pilot and ended IFR.
