Pilot voice accent changes when traveling to different countries

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: The accent of the pilot changes when you fly to a country where different accents are included in the Azure voices.

For example, I did a medevac mission flying from France to England. When I crossed the channel the accent of the pilot switched from American to British. I feel that would make sense for the ATC on the ground, but not so much for the pilot.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue: NA

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Only experienced it once so far. But that’s because I only flew that route once.

Similar. When flying from Ireland, both ROI and NI, my pilots voice changes to a faux Irishish accent. Once I have taken off, it reverts to the normal voice.

Fly from somewhere not Ireland, talk to ATAC and listen.

I am based in Japan and my voice language in the sim is set to Japanese. When I fly in Japan both ATC and the pilot are in Japanese, if I take an employee flight elsewhere the pilot switches to American English  It’s a little buggy but not a big deal for me and quite amusing sometimes.

Changed my pilot to female, the same thing happens.

It would be great if the “localisation” happened on the ATC side, that, at least, would create a bit more immersion, but it’s my pilots voice changing as if to mock the locals.

Agreed.

Going to Australia is funny, because all of a sudden I’m speaking in an Australian accent while the ATC still sounds American.

• Indeed I do.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• It happens whenever I fly over the UK. Once I leave the airspace, the avatar reverts back to the US accent. Basically, the accent system affects all voices instead of just affecting local ATC.

• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• This only happens if “Authentic ATC Language” is enabled in the Language section of the settings. This setting should only affect the language/accent of ATC and not the pilot. Though, in my experience it does the opposite changing the pilots language/accent and not the ATC’s language/accent.

• Yes

• I noticed this when I turned on authentic ATC language. I was flying around Australia and my pilots accent changed but not ATC.
