i already have a Quest 2 and if a understand what its said in this video and also what is shown, it seems to give an image far more stable and higher definition or clarity than the Quest 2.
the cost doesn’t seems to be very high, higher than Quest 2 but lower than G2…
so, are they anybody here knowing about theseheadsets and what they can give with MSFS VR ?
do they add load on the computer and CGU ? to get this quality level ?
and how do u use it ?
same as HP G2 ? with OpenXR runtime ?
is it adding load on your CGU/CPU to get that 8k image ?
seems strange for that nobody talk about these headset here, mainly its about Q2 and G2…
Pimax headsets just have a lot less market- and mindshare than the Q2 and G2.
I like VRFSG’s videos and I hang out in his Discord often, in fact, I went ahead and got an 8KX after watching his video series on it. At this point I have an 8KX, G2, and Index.
A Pimax 5K wouldn’t be my first pick for a new HMD. Like he says in his video, it’s got the resolution of a Rift S, which is decidedly low-res these days. If you have a more moderately spec’d PC, then it could make sense. The wide FOV is always nice.
I’m daily driving the 8KX now, and I like it, but it’s not for the faint of heart. If nothing else, the need to use Parallel Projection on Pimax headsets is a real bummer, and I frankly wouldn’t bother with anything besides an 8KX (as far as Pimax goes), and then I wouldn’t bother with anything less than a 3080. If you want the absolute best headset and you have a 3080 or a 3090, and you are willing to tweak, then get the 8KX. Otherwise, get a G2 IMHO. I also really, really like my Index and I think it’s an excellent headset for MSFS.
With the SU5 performance improvements, the G2 and 8KX will both become much more appealing options since they will be easier to drive.

But when i look his video about this new Pimax 5KS, the images when he flies with MSFS are brilliant, far better than anything i got with my Quest 2, even if i notivced that he stays at HIGH for the 4 first parameters, and me i try everytime with UTLTRA… may be i shoyuld try with HIGH only…
My config is not at the top also but not so bad, Ryzen 2600X and RTX3070, 32Gb RAM, 1Tb Nvme SSD.
Anyway, 27 of July is not so far… we will see what bring this new SU5 in term of performances…
