Pimax Crystal Light Understanding

Sorry to say, that is not the case. The Pimax Crystal (and I’m assuming also the PCL) have a perceived focal distance of one metre. Meaning that if you need reading glasses, you may not be able to focus clearly at that distance in the headset. I have had cataract surgery, which replaced the lenses in my eyes, so that although I now have better than 20/20 vision at infinity, at distances closer than about 1.25 metres I need reading glasses.

When I got my Crystal I thought the lenses were faulty, as I no longer needed glasses for my G2 or Pico 4…but they have a longer perceived focal distance than the Pimax. So I needed corrective lenses of about + 0.8 dioptre for the Crystal (plus a small correction for astigmatism in my right eye) . Glasses for driving may also have correction for astigmatism, which would explain why they could make the PCL seem clearer. I have interacted with a number of older people like myself who struggled with clarity on the Crystal when it came out, and either prescription reading glasses dialed in for 1 metre focus or third party push fit lenses fixed the issue for them.
