So I’ve been pretty happy with my Pimax until the other day when after a CTD it refused to work. I raised a ticket with Pimax and 3 days later zero response and I can’t use my headset. I am posting here in the hope that someone else has had a similar issue and knows how to fix it.
This is what I sent to Pimax
My Crystal has been working OK since I received it a few weeks ago (with an exception that I will raise later.)
Yesterday while playing Microsoft Flight Simulator I had a crash to desk top.
Restatrting the headset and software causes my screen to lock up. Also the Pimax control software is locked and I can not even move the window on my desktop. I can only escape by depressing the power button on the headset and then when the Pimax window unlocks quickly closing the software. If I am not quick enough the headset starts again and everything stays locked.
I have tried the following
- Disconecting the headset, doing a restart of the computer then reconnecting the headset.
- Changin the USB ports used. Originally the hub provided but tried another hub and plugging it directly to the PC.
- Deleting and reinstalling the Pimax software.
- Using PimaxXR and then trying SteamVR.
None of this worked.
I was on the latest software of the PC and the headset firmware. With the reinstall of the software I am back on 1.13.02.01. I can not check the headset firmware because if I start the headset everything locks and I can do nothing. It was the latest firmware though as of yesterday.
End quote.
Since then I have tried new Nvidia drivers, removing my second screen, changing display port and praying to higher powers. Nothing works.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Bummer, I feel your pain.
I had an issue a few days ago when I was totally unable to start the headset and thought it was bricked. This was the morning after the MSFS servers went down and I was unable to play online. Did all the things you tried, including swapping batteries and making sure they were both charged. But then after changing the display port and holding the power button down for ages the headset suddenly came to life and worked again. No issues since. Maybe something with MSFS code screwing things up? No idea.
Maybe try just holding the power button down while offering a goat to your preferred higher power?
If that fails, if you have access to another PC, see if you can get it to work on that. Oh and you can update the client software without the headset attached.
Best of luck.
Edit: On other forums Pimax have admitted they are having delays with support, due to holidays and more staff needed. So expect delays with them getting back to you. Maybe also post this on the Pimax Reddit forum to get more help.

Another thought occurred to me. Deleting the Pimax client in Windows control panel leaves a bunch of Pimax files behind. Before reinstalling the Client make sure to get rid of all those first.
Consider joining Pimax discord and making some fuss about your issue. Some chance that one of the guys from Pimax who are on the Discord, will offer to investigate/escalate your case.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will work my way through them.
Yes, I remembered having a screen locked up when installing the crystal for the first time. I changed the display port turned the PC back on and worked ok. Currently is working stable…
I hope you get it to run again man! I can feel the frustration!
