Pimax user? Make sure to first do a "Room Setup" in PiTool

For all Pimax users trying out FS2020 in VR:

Turns out running a quick Room Setup in PiTool before starting FS2020 in VR does solve some major rendering issues many people have encountered.

It may sound weird, but trust me on this one

I have been working with a friend of mine who is a computer expert for 2 hrs straight now. We are trying to find the executable for microsoft flight simulator to import it into Pi-experience. No luck so far. I am speachless, how can the smart people of microsoft make it impossible to find even the simple task of finding the .exe file. I am speechless…

I think it has to do with that MFS is an app and not an application. I created an bat file to start MFS with the FastLaunch option which looks like
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App “-FastLaunch”

It was posted in some forum a while ago. So there is no exe file to execute.

Thanks for letting us know @Hashjime. I only have the Steam version and it has a .exe file in main installation folder. I have shared your solution in the Pimax OpenMR forums, hope u dont mind

Confirming this worked for me- I was experiencing the zigzag distorted screens and off centre screens, and I though how the heck could the room setup fix it? I was stubborn, tried everything else, but sure enough it worked and I am now loving MSFS with Pimax 8KX! The 3080 and i9 does the job with scaled down res, I’m trying to find the optimal settings. Hard to test with MSFS load times.

So each time before starting the sim?

Another question…Do I need to make an additional room setup under Steam vr too or is this not recommended for fs2020?
