ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: I flew the Virus for about 20 minutes and as I pulled off the runway every electrical device died.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue? Cannot remove Marketplace at this time.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? Once, but only flew it once.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Load C&D
  2. Power up the aircraft and turn on all electrical accessories
  3. Fly ~20 minutes
  4. Note dead electrical accessories
  5. This seems like a 2024 SDK gremlin as there were no low voltage warnings nor was the generator warning lamp lit.

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

What peripherals are you using, if relevant: I have no electrical system control bindings set other than default 2024 keyboard settings.

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it? No

[PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12?

Glad to see this confirmed, I was worried it was a on-off and those are the worst bugs.

Yes this has happened to me. Was on a VFR flightplan and suddenly all my avionics died.

Thanks to the EFB I found somewhere to set down.

Annoying as as the Pipistrel is one of the few GA options without a broken MFD map.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• I only flew it once, but about 20 minutes into my flight I lost all electricals. No intention to fly it again until fixed.

AFAIK, this type of failure is often caused by the battery running down because the Alternator or Generator is not turned on or is malfunctioning. However, in the Pipistrel Virus SW121, there is no Alternator or Generator switch that I could see to turn on / off, nor are these mentioned in the checklists, suggesting that either an Alternator or Generator is not modeled in the electrical code, or that the Alternator or Generator is not programatically set to recharge the battery.

MEDIA

Please add a screenshot or video of the issue occurring.
N/A - after the failure, the displays look just as they do when starting cold and dark in a parking spot.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

  • Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

  • Lack of Generator Switch in cockpit (contrary to the real plane). Assigning buttons to Generator Toggle in the Controls Menu and pressing them does not do anything, either.
  • Also, once the electrical system fails, flaps are no longer operable. This is also contrary to the real plane, where flaps are operated mechanically (no electricity needed).

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

…I do have to wonder a bit how this could have possibly made it through QA testing :-/

@SmotheryVase665 This should be merged with this: Pipistrel Virus Electrical System Dies After About 20 Minutes

And can confirm, the bug is there. 20 minutes of my life wasted. I’m tired of MSFS2024.

Have you checked the rest of the sim? The traditional 172 (not the G1000, the traditional one) doesn’t even start because the electrical systems have bugs. There are bugs everywhere, unfortunately.

No warning, just goes dark. No way to fix in-flight, generator failure light is never lit.

It’s a real shame as this plane feels really good when flying (if not with a super sensitive throttle) and has a good autopilot.

Thank you for the bug report.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Yes. Twice.

Both times were on Ferry Flight mission in Career mode.
