Pixelated Cloud Texturing

Hi all!

First off I want to say thank you to all the developers that worked so hard to produce such an awesome game! It is by far, the best looking sim out of the box and really aside from better planes and specific airport sceneries, does not need much added at all payware wise!

That said, I have been getting some pretty pixelated clouds recently. If you watch this video from CptCanada, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpQk0wb08_c1, from the 1hr 24 min to 1 hr 28 min range you will see what I am talking about. It also shows itself on some thicker clouds, which you can scroll through the video to find. I have an I7-9700 cpu and a GTX 1660 TI and this doesn’t happen on all clouds but does on a lot of them. Even in NYC, scattered cloud layers, most settings on medium, ultra clouds and ultra buildings/trees I am still getting 35-45 fps. It does drop to 20-30 fps in the cockpit though. I don’t believe it is a system thing as the guy in the video has one of the best rigs you can buy and it is happening with him. Any suggestions? I had no problem downloading this game day one and install only took about an hour and a half. I don’t want to risk trying to a reinstall though, and it not being available when I try to re-download it.

Thanks for the help!

Same. Clouds were super fine yesterday and today are different. I believe that only live clouds are doing that but i didnt backtest it yet. p.s the cockpit issue in the airlines is well known , everyone has it. try to enable fixed Cpu mode in bios instead of dynamic and make super hyperthreading is on.

I was messing with my Radeon settings and found that Radeon image sharpening was causing my clouds to pixelate. Not sure what you’re running, but it might be worth looking at.
