Just some question. 2 new planes were released voor MSFS. Aermacchi and the Rutan Long-EZ. Orbx sells them and Simmarket also. Orbx is a partner of MSFS, but it isn`t possible to buy the planes via Marketplace in MSFS. It is only possible to buy via ORBX or Simmarket… Any idea why ?
I think its just that the Market place is on a scheduled update cycle at the moment, so ORBX will put it on ORBX central as soon as they are able to sell it where as if you want to use the marketplace you’ll have to wait for the next market place update.
Not sure if this is the intended long term way the marketplace will work, I suspect not. Personally I’m trying to keep my addon purchases done through the marklet place even if it means i have to wait a few weeks extra just for ease of update and management.

Same here, otherwise it,s all getting fragmented like in the FSX era. Now we have a central marketplace where everybody looks into. So why not update it regularly, Microsoft also earns some bucks from reselling area,s planes, etc.

Yeah, the scheduled marketplace updates add wait time, and MS tends to check all 3rd party patches for Xbox… which means Xbox has to wait for a patch even if it is already out for PC or PS… but it does add an extra layer of quality control to insure there are fewer conflicting issues.
I suspect they do something similar here. Make sure the stuff they add to the marketplace is fully compatible and whatnot.

Marketplace is clearly a failure because they don’t manage or update it enough.
The market has already been fragmented.

much like the Apple model, the Marketplace submissions need to go through an approval process. That process can take some time to complete. at that point it gets released to the market place,

so far i’ve not had any problems with Market place, and i’ve bought a few of the add ons, but i must be one of the blessed ones as i’ve also not sufferred a single CTD or install / download error.
Only had a problem with marketplace in the beginning, because I disabled my steam overlay. Since I fixed that no problems. Have bought the carenado mooney and Gaya LGKO through there
lucky you, however i would not bet my pennies on that re the number of complaints if have seen just on this forum …
