It is very easy to lose control of your rudder legs on landing if you are concentrating on feathering the elevator and throttle for a gentle touchdown. 
Also, if the novice Sim pilot is a motorist, there is a subconscious reaction to tread on the brake pedal, causing a swerve to the right in an airplane. 
Practice makes perfect.
