Please consider selling Premium Deluxe planes individually

I would happily buy the Longitude for around $20, specially now that it has been updated.

YES … you might want to take a look at the WB-SIM C172 Steam Gauge Enhancement Mod (To the Asobo Deluxe 172 Classic)

Note: To use this Mod, you will need to have the Premium/Deluxe version of MSFS, as it is a Mod for the C172 Classic that is in that version.

Throwing in my vote because I would love the Longitude but the rest of the premium deluxe edition doesn’t interest me much.

This misses the entire point of the deluxe package, and doesn’t take into consideration that those who have purchased it may have done so for just one or two aircraft… when you look at what you’re getting in the package, the cost per aircraft/airport is negligible. GIven that FS2024 is just around the corner as well, I think (and hope) that it won’t happen.

Please, for 2024, just ONE version for everyone

Everyone has the same version, so no need for encrypted premium planes that have to be encrypted to prevent sharing, and can be modded by the community to improve them if wanted.

Everyone has the same MSFS2024 – “No Pilot left behind”

Other 3rd party addons, they are Optional, Market Place encrypted or developer website

So you are suggest people spend extra for stuff they don’t want just to get the one thing they do want? That makes no financial sense to the consumer, only to the company, and why I refuse to spend another $120 just for one stinking plane. Heck, not even for $60 would I buy a single plane.

As long as that doesn’t increase the cost of the base version from $60 to $120, I am all in. But I don’t think that negates the requirements for encryption since now the supposed primium aircraft / airports will be sold as marketplace packages which will still come with encryption. The entire upgrade package if any could be reasonably priced bundles like they released the Reno bundle (which I hear is not very good). There individual items can be sold as seperate packages too, may be with bundle, you get a discount of say 20%. The biggest current issue I see is that the upgrade price is ridiculously high compared to if you brought the premium delux edition in the first place.

I don’t go to the supermarket and demand that they sell me three bread rolls because I have no use for a packet of eight, I either buy the lot or I don’t.

Having said that, there have been plenty of sales where the premium and deluxe upgrades were sold at a fraction of their listed price, so you’d have saved a chunk of cash, and gained a handful of extra aircraft in the process. That’s when I bought them, and in a strange quirk of fate, the aircraft I actually wanted most in the bundle aren’t the aircraft that I still fly, whereas some of the others were a pleasant surprise and get down even though they weren’t something I was originally interested in.

That’s a poor analogy because food is a consumable. A better one would be if I went to a hardware store because I wanted a single drill bit. I can buy a multi-pack, but also get the option to buy just the one that I actually need and not have a bunch of useless extras taking up space in my toolbox.

And I don’t care if the deluxe version goes on sale, it’s still paying for an entire second license of the sim when all I want is a single aircraft. I couldn’t care less the quality of the other extras. If i wanted them, I would have bought it from the start.

And if there’s no facility to buy an individual drill bit? If you want the one you don’t have, you cough up the cash for the whole packet. If you can make do without, you don’t. It’s not rocket science, and it’s a marketing ploy that’s used the world over for many different products.

As for buying a second licence, that’s nonsense - buy the upgrade pack instead. It’s cheaper, for starters! Given that the sim has been free to use on Game Pass since it launched, I felt the upgrade price (especially during the same) was extremely reasonable in the circumstances.

Each to their own I suppose!

I’ve never seen that offered, only full licences. A bit late in the game now with 2024 coming out soon, but where would one find the upgrade? If it’s in the marketplace, I have a personal boycott on that due to other anti-consumer practices.

And back to the drill bits, you are still making a bad comparison. The bits are a physical item. If my only choice was to buy the multi-pack, I would have the option to resell the unused bits to recoup some of my cost. Not so with digital media.

Well I certainly got mine in the marketplace, but you’re boycotting that due to “reasons”… makes sense, not using the Microsoft provided shop to buy a Microsoft branded product!

Ah well, the upgrade option has always been there, but as you say, it’s a bit late in the day now. Never mind eh, maybe someone will make a third party add-on for the aircraft you’re after at some point, via a third party vendor.

While I agree somewhat with the sentiment, I still have to point out that you should be aware that any potential individual aircraft from the upgrade packs will also be sold via the marketplace, exclusively, like all other MS first party planes (local legents, famous flier, an225, atr etc.) are.

The accountants and marketing people at MSAsobo have done the math based on previous sales. They have certainly compared the profit of forcing you to buy the more expensive package vs the profit made by selling each individually.

Plus, if I think I can get the cheaper package and buy that ONE plane that I want, what keeps me from doing that instead? That’s less $$$ for them. With the number of people I’ve read about on this forum that believe they got burned by buying the cheaper package, MS probably believes people won’t make that same mistake when 2024 comes out.

But all of this is speculation. Well just have to see what happens.
