If you get LittleNavMap, it will display all AI, as well as give you a total count ,
a CTD just about to happen !!!

Start saving up for a SuperComputer, is you want to “Fill the skies with Planes” !!!
Ground and air traffic need to be distinguished - the issue here only applies to air traffic. Ground traffic (planes, boats, and cars) gets released correctly.
Correct … Updated Topic heading, and 1st post to emphasis that its only FLYING AI Planes.
Which makes one assume it is just a design “overlook”, or a coding error that was never picked up on, and should be easily corrected.
I bet the code is there, but with a logic or syntax error, so it is never executing correctly.
Its not as if the ability to destroy a simobject is not available within MSFS.

Amazing !!! Such Mixed up values some have these days .
I suspect whoever flagged it , did not even have a clue what it was … just did not “LIKE” the picture !!!
SAD
Looks like this is reported fixed in today’s patch notes. Time to test!
That will make my Day … Week – Month – even YEAR !!!
To be able to turn AI Traffic back on again will be a great step forward in Immersion.
and yes … They fixed it …
The great analysis work paid off!
Yes … I think maybe some of Screen Shots caught Asobo attention … It was pretty DRAMATIC !!! and difficult to ignore !!
Any Asobo Dev, scanning through the Forum, and seeing that, must have thought
OMG – How did we miss that ???
You’re spot on! A picture is worth a 1000 words and this is pretty much the reaction when I’ve had the opportunity to mention this topic.
Kudos to the OP!
Really nice this got fixed. Relatively fast too.
I didn’t use AI traffic at all since the beginning because of the performance issues. Today I tried it again.
Maybe it’s better now, at least playable, and it doesn’t seem to affect the framerate any more. But I still get a lot of stutters when I enable AI traffic (50%) while I can fly almost stutter-free without.
AI traffic will always bring a performance malus. Those planes have to be simulated and rendered.
You could try setting use of Generic models for both AI and player aircraft. That seems to lessen the load a bit.
I would suggest that you start anew Tread about issues with AI Aircrarft & stuttering, since the AI Fix.
