Please fix the Ground Physics (Friction, inertia etc...)

Looks like this got FIXED late in the SU15 beta !!!

For anyone wanting to do any QUANTITATIVE investigation into ground physic with crosswinds, *bear this in mind.

The winds you may be setting into a test wind profile, with the Asobo weather preset sliders, is NOT the SURFACE WIND on the runway, !!

Despite what it says, it is still the winds at 1000ft, with the Asobo FUDGE of reducing the wind speed to 50% of that value at ground level.

(Active Sky has recognized this, and thankfully has an option to remove that 50% Fudge)

So, when considering your Ground wind speed, and your crosswind component, you need to set the UI slider in the preset wind to TWICE the wind that you want at ground level.

Ie If you want a 15 Knot Crosswind, and set the winds to be a direct crosswind in direction,m you need to set the UI to TWICE that speed that you want.

This obvious makes any Crosswind you set in the UI only be 50% of the ground Crosswind you are testing for, so when you set it to say 20 knots, and think –

y, 'not so bad, I must be a better pilot than I though I was, **Crosswind landing are EASY,

you really only really flying in a 10 knot wind !!

You can confirm this by looking at the A:var for ambient Wind speed , it will be 50% of what you set in the UI ! :frowning_face:
