Looks like this 50% thing got partially fixed in SU15 ??
At least when the wind is entered in the weather UI.
Now, correctly, the wind entered into the UI, is what you get at Ground level !!
Did I miss that in the SU15 release notes ???
BUT — when ATIS says 281 @29 Knots, the wind at ground level ( ambient wind A:var) is 50% of that still.
So when the ATIS says the winds are 29 Knots, they are really 50% of that on the runway, which is just WRONG !!!
Unless of course, all airport wind sensors are on a 1000 ft mast !!!
