I have played with motion controls in X-Plane, and here are my conclusions:

MSFS controller implementation is not good, that pointer thing doesn’t give you inmersion and muscular memory, compared to a VR implementation where you have to grab the instruments. The problem grabing the instruments is that you need a lot of space in you real cockpit.

If you are using HOTAS, it’s better to use the mouse, until hand tracking arrives. In X-plane I didn’t mix them, one or another.
So at the moment I think you better stick with your mouse.
Edit: I see there is also touch mode, my recomendation is still the same if you wanna use a HOTAS, but try “touching” the instruments
