Please help. Glass cockpit planes keep banking right

Do you have any add-ons in your Community folder? If yes, please remove and retest before posting.

Tested with empty.

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?

No

Brief description of the issue:

All the glass cockpit small planes, not jets, keep doing a slow bank to the right and do not maintain level flight. Not experiencing this in any of the non glass cockpit planes.

Is this an issue or is it something to do with trim? Please help me, I have years of sim experience but no real world sadly.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

NA

Detail steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Takeoff normally, pitch power and trim for cruise and stop inputs once level flight is achieved. Slowly but surely their aircraft begins banking to the right.

PC specs for those who want to assist (if not entered in your profile)

Not spec related.

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue: noticed since about 2 months ago, but I usually prefer flying jets or the c172, so may never have noticed.

Are you on the Steam or Microsoft Store version?

Did you submit this to Zendesk? If so, what is your ticket #?

Please help me as I would like to fly the daher and the Mooney but this is annoying as hell. Thank you in advance.

Check a few of these settings and make sure they’re set into the following:

  1. Flight model set to Modern, don’t use Legacy.
  2. Assists set to Hard/True to Life.
  3. Add deadzone for all your X, Y, Z primary flight control axis. At least 5-10% is needed.
  4. Make sure your AI Copilot is Off at all times.

Thank you for your response. I will turn of the co pilot and see. Everything else is set up as you have said. Thank you.

Sadly, no. I’ve tried everything but it still happens. I simply cannot figure out what it is. :pensive: Do props do this in real life? Is that it? Rudder trim and aileron trim don’t help either. As in there’s no way to get it to fly level without banking. Even in clear skies.

P-Factor. Every aircraft that uses a propeller have it, and that includes helicopters. When you turn the auto pilot, also turn the YAW damper, that should be able to handle it.
It’s explained here:
Understanding Propeller Torque and P-Factor - FlightGear wiki

Thank you for this. But YD doesn’t help either. :pensive:

Some planes don’t have the ability to switch fuel tanks automatically. They start flight feeding from one, and eventually you need to switch to the other. This can cause a weight imbalance.

Thank you. I will check.

Not in level flight, and that would be pulling to the left in any case, not the right.

Do you actually fly with keyboard and mouse?
If not, I’m sure you have to recalibrate controls. Maybe check the dead zones as well…

Then how is it that I can fly level in my Sim?

Nope. I use a Logitech Extreme 3D, that I have calibrated well. The issue doesn’t occur on jets, and propeller planes without glass cockpits. So, it’s unlikely it’s the controller. Though I will test with something else to be sure.

Thanks.

Hey… I’m not finding fault with the sim or anyone else, or just complaining. Seriously having this issue and fully aware it could be something at my end. Trying to figure it outside of a vacuum . If you can think of anything let me know.

Have the same problem sometimes. But mostly not on first flights, but in the second or third flight with short stops. Sometimes on longer flights it starts within the flight, so reading this it could be a fuel thing with some planes, but for me i don’t think its fuel or wind related.
Never tried if its only with glass cockpit planes, but i know it’s not happening with airliners.

The weird thing is that the plane breaks right without aileron or rudder movement

You might need the latest G1000 (Garmin G1000) modification because the latest MSFS2020 upgrade caused my system to have same sort of problem. This is the link G1000. Just goes in Community Folder or wherever you put your add ons. Even if you still have problem this garmin update won’t do harm. Cheers

Thank you so much. This doesn’t actually fix the problem in and of itself but, after using the mod, it is now possible to aileron trim to compensate. Previously even one notch of aileron trim caused it to start banking the other way. So thank you. While not gone entirely, it is now absolutely possible to fly and enjoy. Thank you so much.

Still, if this is a bug, hope it will be looked into.

There is also the G3000 mod on the same website. Goodluck and stay safe.
