Which temp folder exactly if you don’t mind saying?
Your local user TEMP folder ( %TEMP% ) , usually C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Temp
Thanks for the info but unfortunately it hasn’t helped me.Same result.
This is my frustration… One day the sim runs fine. The next it’s a complete turkey shoot… server issues, some awkward services update, memory error. The lists go on…
We all know this MSFS is supposed to be bleeding edge. But, from a customer point of view. Sometimes It’s just bleeding awful!
I hope the CM’s can feed this back.
Also having same issue since gaming services updated. Worked fine before update, immediately after ‘Insert Disc’ - none of the documented fixes (from FAQs or the forum) help.
none of the solutions listed here work for me ![]()
to know that I do not even have fs2020 installed, just the luncher
it’s been 2 days, really annoying!
Same here, only the installer…
2 Days ? Oh gosh…
I’ve not played yesterday and I don’t think I would be able with this issue
Just wondering if there is a pattern here. I’m still having the same issue.
I have fs2020 on a secondary hd, in a custom install location.
Is everyone using custom locations here?
I am using a custom install location, however, it is on my “C” boot drive and not on any of my extra storage or backup drives.
Been happening to me recently with most Gaming Services updates. I’ve been able to resolve by simply performing a Shut Down of my PC (not restart). After turning back on MSFS loads ok. This is all I need to do.
This literally just happened after the new Gaming Services Update “Please Insert Disc”. I Shut down PC, turned back on, all good and now in the sim.
edit - I will also add.. it sucks when this happens, so can certainly empathise with those experiencing the issue. A few of us were stuck with this for over a week one time. All you can do is collectively keep logging/reopening support tickets.
just did a full shutdown, same issue, not a restart but a shutdown…
Same here, about to try the temp folder. but we really shouldn’t need to do this ■■■■.
nope temp folder didn’t work
Not limited to beta either…
Happening to people on SU9.
Seems very much related to that Gaming Services update - but no combination of reparing, reseting, reinstalling fixes it for me
Several months ago I had the same issue. I right clicked on the MSFS Icon, right clicked on Microsoft Flight Simulator and selected “Run as Administrator”. That allowed me to run the game and after a few days the Insert Disc prompt went away.
…
I doubt that was the official solution, however, that worked for me.
Tried that…thanks
It’s happening to everyone; clearly there’s something going on server wide.
