Please remove the Kitfox STi from the Marketplace!

I want to make it clear that this add-on is absolute garbage and a clear cash grab. I want to save anybody else from wasting their money on this and ask that in the future there will be a screening process for add-ons that get onto the Marketplace because not only is this plane broken (flaps don’t work), avionics are all wrong, cockpit doesn’t even resemble the real Kitfox. It is a shame that something of such abysmal quality can make it onto the Marketplace.

There needs to be the ability to see the plane in sim before having to purchase it. I’m extremely hesitant to buy anything from the marketplace while I can only see 4-5 pictures of it.

Is there no checks and balances at Asobo? How embarrassing

true. That hangar view where the camera goes around the plane and you can even view the inside would be a nice feature before buying planes

Agree… there should be some type of review process on market

No garbage on FS2020

Great idea! The planes should be fully visible in the hangar whether purchased or not!

And maybe give it a test ride, no? Push the buttons etc. Even better is to have a go at it at an airstrip but you travel anymore than a 20nm radius from that airstrip, you get shot down by a surface to air missile or something…

Some sort of pre-purchase demo!

This is better than what we currently have, even if you can’t fly it, atleast you can see it in 3D. Right now we just have to wait for some unfortunate people to buy it and see it’s junk and warn others. (Sorry, my friend).

Thank you for the heads up. I agree MS/Asobo needs to have a tighter selection process and quality control of what ends up in the marketplace.

We should be able to not only see the plane in the hangar but to do a time-limited test drive, say 30 minutes, to better evaluate a decision. This shouldn’t be difficult to implement. Pick a remote test airstrip, just like in real life, and let people fly the plane for up to 30 minutes.

Sorry guys, but

  1. I don’t think it is on MS/Asobo to quality control 3rd party stuff.
  2. Nobody is preventing you to check on the product before your purchase. Don’t be lazy, simply visit the 3rd party website or enjoy some youtube content reviewing the item.

Keep in mind that the marketplace is nothing but a showcase. Anything not from MS/Asobo can be purchased elsewhere.

Hey, doesn’t mean they can’t start.

If I were running a supermarket, I think I would make some effort to ensure the produce from farmers I sell in my grocery are free of E.Coli. I mean I might be the shiniest supermarket rn but that doesn’t mean I’m the only one. I have to win customers by making sure the products I sell are as shiny as the store (or at least how shiny I imagine it to be).

Right! Something like a 30 min in-game “checkride” (coupled with other user reviews) would provide the best opportunity to make an informed decision before purchasing!

This isn’t a supermarket selling groceries, being liable by law for sold stuff. If Carenado doesn’t want to give customers a chance to demo try out their marketplace Cessna, there is nothing MS/Asobo can do about it.

It was an analogy. And I agree, there is no law around it. That’s why I’m all for certain consumer-friendly regulations. I agree as well, that it’s their market place and they can do with it as they wish.

I was just discussing the consumer side benefits (and really, also to their benefit) if they were to at least set some standards in their market place. If the OP’s review is anything to go by (and I have no reason to doubt him), the bar is set pretty low. Hopefully that’s just for now.

Well, at least a 2 hour test-period (similar to steam) and a review system - that should help keeping scammers out of the store.

Really?

“I want to sell my product in your store”

“Our policy is that you provide a limited ‘try before you buy’ trial of this digital product”

“I’m not doing that, sell my tat”

“Well jog on then cupcake”

And digital goods are covered by applicable laws so yes, despite what you say, there is liability even if Microsoft policies claim otherwise.

Won’t happen, unless MS/Asobo forces ALL 3rd parties to have their MSFS stuff available for downlad before purchase. Forcing them might easily scare away these partners, which certainly isn’t something MS/Asobo wants…

I agree on the review system, and if you look closely, the basic step (giving stars) is already implemented.

Well, ■■■■ me then! LMAO

But right!? Imagine Microsoft actually protecting its users!

30 minute demo would just be abused by people so you have got no chance of that happening.

That’s why they should get shot down by a surface-to-air missile if they go beyond certain parameters.

edit: and no i dont mean their plane. I mean a missile to where they’re sitting, in front of their computers. Boom!
