Sounds more like an issue with the joystick or calibration to me since the twist action is just an axis that has to be assigned. If it doesn’t work correctly, it’s either the joystick or the way MSFS interprets the input AFTER it was assigned (which I find unlikely). Since you were able to assign it, the UI behind it seems to work just fine and it most likely has nothing to do at all with this petition.
A few things you might try
- Have you tried calibrating the joystick in the Windows settings first and then assigning it again in MSFS2024?
- Does the twist action work correctly in all other games? (maybe the joystick is broken)
- Have you tried unplugging and reconnecting into a different USB-port?
- Are you using an (unpowered) USB hub (had problems with a joystick that sent wrong signals when connected to a hub for some reason)?
