Don’t forget that the Baron in this sim is turbo charged and thus produces mean sea-level atmospheric pressure to a much higher altitude than a naturally aspirated engine such as in the Cessna 172 or the G36 Bonanza in the sim, which starts to reduce power almost immediately after take off. As a result, the mixture isn’t used the same because the manifold pressure remains high. Some POH’s for turbo or supercharged aircraft state that you can use the mixture to run leaner in some cases to save fuel but I’m not sure about the POH’s recommendation for the Baron, anyone know off hand?
EDIT: pwmacbert below pointed out that the Baron in the sim is most likely not the turbo charged version and after looking into it, I believe that I agree with him. Ugh, I hate it when I’m wrong…
