I am not sure where you are going with that statement, but we all/both know that Flight Sim’s have been a cottage industry, so a certain level of stagnation will set in, just as it has for AAA genres. Also lets not forget that behind all of this is one of the most profitable and richest companies on the planet, which just by itself will bring new things. So I just think it is a bit disingenuous to band that statement around given that before MSFS 2020 other platforms were still holding up quite well. Small teams simply do not have the money/muscle or infrastructure to stream in Live maps etc, and they have made remarkable products.
So yes, while the bar lifting is most welcome, it is not without its problems or issues! And hopefully soon it will come together, but that does not mean what came before is any less worthy.
