PMDG 737 Discussion (PC Version) (Part 1)

Does anyone know why VNAV doesn’t work for me. I have all altitudes and speeds set in the FMC?

Not sure what I’m doing but VNAV doesn’t select, but everything else in the autopilot functions as it should. Am I missing something ?

Is it possible to try that airplane for an hour like some kind of game demo? I would like to check the virtual cockpit for graphics glitches and visual bugs first before buying it.
(I became very VERY careful before buying any aircraft after these PMDG 737 problems with the absolute ugly pixelated LED lightstrips above autopilot and main panel I was luckily able to fix, and this absolute ugly footrest textures with misplaced bolts I cannot fix because I cannot change the 3D model…)

I figured it out, I didnt have both flight directors on.

Good catch!

Same goes for lnav I had to experience, some departures you will have to fly yourself until established (which I dont dislike)

Yeah all must be complete and entered.

I jad the same … the ONLYthing I did not enter was reserve fuel in the FMC … and no VNSV sellecable

After entering 0.1 it was all ok

Agree, it means you can’t just take off and hit the AP button. I also noticed that LNAV won’t engage in flight unless you are reasonably established on and intercept with the FMC route

Wonder if they’ll implement functioning circuit breakers?
Otherwise still my number 1 aircraft

They won’t - search the PMDG forums for why.

So odd, this is one of the few planes I HAVE NOT had a CTD in.

Now all my instruments and cockpit interaction just froze. I can still control the airplane with the yoke but everything else is frozen. Great stuff.

Well, it is for those of us whose installations aren’t broken.

As for your issue, see the last post in this thread. Perhaps it will help:

Guys am I the only one that can’t see ANYTHING with taxi lights during night???

How are you casual flyers doing your departures? This thing is a rocket ship on takeoff. Even at 83% it was climbing out at nearly 5k fpm. I ended up setting a V/S of about 2k fpm til 20k ft then engaging VNAV.

I just installed the pmdg 737. I have the flaps set at 5, chocks removed and a flight plan. When I advance the throttles, plane does not move and the takeoff configuration alarm sounds. This is usually what happens when flaps are up. Any ideas

Yeah, the -700 is a pocket rocket. You can either keep the attitude under active control at well under degrees for initial climb out, or try setting an engine de-rate and reduced climb power in the Takeoff section of the FMC prior to flight.

Make sure you do NOT have the spoilers armed, and have the autobrakes set to RTO.

Thanks for the reply. Can I set the CLB de-rate to the same as T/O under the CLB tab?

Yeah, climb performance is on the right side of the CDU. I think you can also set the altitude for automatic power reduction on the same page near the bottom-right but I don’t have the sim running at the moment.

it really takes off like a rocket. Are there other ways to avoid the high vnav climb-rates?
