you should create a post “PMDG 737 - Only talk good things about them!!”
Nope. Merely tired of seeing product-specific threads demolished by a few who insist on dominating the conversation with their strident complaints. BTW, posting several times in a row in the same thread before anyone else replies is kind of reinforcing my point. ![]()
Cheers indeed.
Same here. Tired with people that cant live with other people opinion.
You were the one being sarcastic when i mentioned i was expecting an EFB and had my point of view on why i was expecting this since launch either you agree or not.
Looking forward to checking the latest update out tomorrow and especially the upcoming LNAV & VNAV improvements.
Personally I’m not all concerned about the EFB as I like FMC control. I have a view saved where I have access to both FMCs and can enter nav & performance data on one, then control & monitor fuel/payload on the other. I use the free 737-700ng app for N1 on my real tablet and everything works smoothly.
Now off to the Fenix thread to talk about how I don’t own the Fenix but really am enjoying the 737, which is a far better plane. :■■■■:
whats the 737-700ng app? Interested on that.
This airplane is amazing no doubt, never said the contrary ![]()
Good day all,
Please keep the post respectfull to eachother, even/especially if you disagree with their opinion.
Without critisism no product has ever improved, but keep it constructive at this forum and in the end we will all benefit from it.
And remember we are all here with one shared hobby, passion or as my wife calls it: an excuse to avoid doing the dishes.
cant agree more, without criticism and different opinions (either people agree or not) no product will ever improve and developers will never change the way they handle bussiness if everyone agree and take whatever they tell you all the time as the right thing.
specially agree with the “as my wife calls it: an excuse to avoid doing the dishes.”

Hi @FormerSnail5736
Forgive me for not knowing who you are, but I’ve been away for awhile and as you might understand, don’t feel like wading through almost 5,000 posts to get caught up. Who is “we” in the above statement?
Thanks,
Kev
The PMDG 737 is a good plane, but their pricing policy makes no sense from a customer point of view.
It’s very expensive (cost more than the Fenix which is obviously better in terms of systems depth and 3D modelling).
But the worst are the variants. You’re not going to pay 75$ a 2nd time for the -800, just to get a reskin of the -700. Should be 15/20$ to upgrade to another variant. It’s litterally the SAME plane 5m longer.
The systems (what requires the most work) are the exact same.
If they don’t change their pricing on variants, I won’t buy any and a lot of people will do the same.
definitely a great plane - but like you mentioned their pricing policy makes no sense as well how they handle those variants and updates. $210 USD for all 3 planes makes no sense at ALL.
Holding to launch things like EFB just after all of the variants are released and keep posting “updates” to show how hard they are working on it, for me is just “embromation” to make people feel better.
for me seems like “We will release all the variants to cash grab and then we will release the EFB which should be released on day 1 like Fenix did” or maybe the day after they released the 737 and saw what fenix did with their EFB they had to start all over again ![]()
We had two options:
-Release in May 2022 without EFB.
-Release in August 2022 with EFB.
By “we” there I meant the real life 737 pilots in the beta test team at PMDG. There’s a bunch of us in the PDMG forum in case you have technical questions.
Question: how can you tell if you need to turn the centre tank fuel pumps on (or I suppose what is the quantity at which wing tanks are full)?
And if one where to forget (because you missed the Config alert…)…you will eventually get a FUEL IMB warning (this I have learned). QRH indicates that you should open the cross feed valve. Are there any other actions that should be taken - eg disengaging A/T to allow differential thrust (hardly seems like a good idea), or turning off fuel pumps on the imbalanced side ?
No one forced you to buy it and it was made very clear up front that the EFB will follow later.
Hey folks. I believe all of you understand that users are expected to stay on-topic and not focus comments on/at other users. This is a hobby we are all supposed to be enjoying. Please dial it back. And if you are a bit rusty on the policies here, take a few minutes to review the Code of Conduct. Thanks.
If you have an Android device, search for “Toper 737ng free” in the play store. Don’t think it’s available on the Apple marketplace, at least the free version, unfortunately.
Yes, but there is a set of key bindings for a real, traditional pause that pauses (EDIT) almost everything.
Here’s a link:
The very next post explains the reason for my edit.
Just to note that this pause is the best pause available, but time still moves, weather continues and fuel still burns. But it is the best pause to use (never use active pause!).
Thank you for clarifying that! I totally missed the target with my post (highlighting the word everything).
I’m glad you caught it fast so it could be the first post under mine. I’ll make an edit just to avoid confusion.
Thanks again!
The 737 was released in May. Even if the EFB does not make it into production until late September, that would be 4 months, not “1 year”.
If they had waited until the EFB was ready before releasing the plane, we still would not have a 737 to fly yet in MSFS. It is not ready because obviously programming it is non-trivial - it takes a lot of time and testing. I have been enjoying the 737 for two months now and have logged over 150 hours in the aircraft. That would not have been possible if they had waited for the EFB to be completed before the initial release.
PMDG made it very clear that some features would not be ready on release day. Nobody was forced to buy the 737 now. If an EFB is of paramount importance (to you) then you could have waited to purchase the aircraft until it was “feature complete”.
While a modern EFB is “nice” it is by no means “essential”. Most of what the EFB will (eventually) do is already possible through the FMS configuration menus, just as has always been the case in the previous P3D and FSX versions of the plane.
