PMDG 737 Discussion (PC Version) (Part 1)

I’m not sure.
So take for example the engine start switches. In the old days a right mouse click would turn them clockwise towards the FLT position and a left mouse click would turn them anti-clockwise towards the GND position.

The advantage was that there was only one single click spot for every switch. The direction the switch would go to depended only on whether you used left or right mouse buttons. P3D and DCS do this.

I THINK that’s what I do though, but I’ll have to check. COULD be I use the mouse wheel. But with the mouse interaction set to legacy and the PMDG mouse option files installed this should be a right click to GND. Of course it requires the airplane to be bought from outside the marketplace.

Confirm… Left mouse click GRD and right mouse click CONT and FLT. Mouse wheel works too.

Cool. I need to check that. I don’t know why mine isn’t behaving like that.

For the cost of purchasing what is supposed to be the premier MSFS commercial jet simulation, it would have been nice if PMDG could have taken 30 seconds to edit the parts of the manual that only pertain to a previous release and just maybe, update the tutorial to start from cold and dark at the gate, instead of on the runway with engines running (unless that is how the majority of their Captains fly this sim).

Question on the engine display options on the upper display. Once you close out the lower engine display after engine start, you get options for two types of “mini-displays”. One only displays three parameters, the other option displays more. My question is - are both displays always available and it’s the pilot’s discretion on which style is selected or is the type of display an airline-specified option?

Dzięki… That’s great. I’m such a lazy beta tester hahaha

That worked very nicely. Thanks! Now the dilemma is what to assign cockpit zoom to. I don’t want it to be just the scrollwheel because it interferes with when I use it for turning knobs on the MCP. Right now I’ve set it to a combination of right mouse click + scrollwheel.

Press Mouse wheel down and use the wheel simultaneously works fine.

I have a mulit-button mouse so I assigned Zoom In and Zoom Out to two of the secondary buttons on the side of the mouse where my right thumb rests. I’ve found that works very well.

Will definitely depend on an individual airline’s SOP. At my company, we never change the configuration of those displays in any phase of operation: the upper DU is always the compact engine display, and the lower DU only ever displays hydraulic quantity and pressure. (On the NG; the Max methodology is different of course given the 4 large displays vs 6 smaller ones.)

Any update to PMDG being given access to an Xbox test build so they can test it and have it released on Xbox?

Also any info to their liveries being released? Why can Captain Sim get loads of liveries released at the same time as his planes but PMDG can’t?

Apparently PMDG says the delay is from Microsoft/Asobo as they have submitted the aircraft last week for testing and claim to not have yet heard anything… Hopefully should be out this or next week. Can’t agree more on liveries as i fly on Xbox and love the Atr but miss some decent ones and was hoping they would have been out quicker. i assume those developers that flooded the marketplace with products of lesser quality had submitted them a while back and they were top of the queue…

If you assign the view to the MMB it doesn’t let you zoom with a combination of MMB+Scroll. So I now I have it to zoom with RMB+Scroll.

It’s a bit annoying but it’s ok.

In our airplanes we don’t have the small version of the secondary parameters on the upper DU. Upper DU only shows large gauges and the lower DU can show secondary parameters or hydraulics. A single click of the eng button will blank the lower DU and nothing will show on the upper DU like in the PMDG, where you need to click ENG twice in order to hide all secondary parameters.

Our SOP is to always keep the lower DU blanked from the moment we start to taxi so that if any parameter exceeds a limit value the screen will pop up to grab our attention as some of these won’t trigger a master caution.

Still no word from pmdg as to whether the aircraft has now been put back to the testing environment by MS team for xbox users :crossed_fingers:t2:

Is there no way we can tag the marketplace team on this?

If only the freight room too was in this glorious complexity and high-polygon beauty! I feel like filth having only a boring puny handbrake lever between the seats in real-life  Hm is PMDG planning to bring a 777 cargo version too, and is a big visual V2-update of the freight room visuals (or cabin if someone prefers to fly this) for the 737 series planned some day?
I enjoy to look at perfectly structured and Tetris-like perfectly arranged cargo only illuminated by cold sterile neon tubes before take-off…

Higher quality cabin is listed as “future update” on the store page so yes, they plan to add it. Maybe this year, maybe next… You already paid for the product so be happy with what you have. I was told on this forum.
