Ok thanks will try that and let you know how it goes

This is what i get as soon as i put my alias in the sim just artifacts see pic

This when im at gate, really strange, the escaping out screen goes black and it CTD
Im going to try the 737-700 see if it does the same

Is this on the SU14 beta or SU13. No issues for me. Looks weird though. Maybe also try a reinstall of 737. I’ve only used the 800 and not seen any issues with simbrief user name in EFB & I’m still on SU13.

I’m on SU14 and the only issue I’ve run into is the same one affecting pretty much everyone - all Assistance options in the sim reset to Easy with every launch of the sim and have to be reset to whatever you normally use. The PMDG 737 itself runs flawlessly (see above re my 4-1/2 hour flight yesterday).

Its on SU13, i uninstalled and reinstalled the 738 but it kept all my settings so i didnt remove everything as it seems, everything else on the efb works except the simbrief username which causes it to glitch and crash like it does

I might disable it or just use the other functions
As im done with getting it to work

I can still import from the fmc so will carry on doing that :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Do you have a Simbrief username with non-standard non-Latin characters? Another question: have you tried with any mods or third-party utilities removed and an empty Community folder?

If you don’t have a non-standard Simbrief name and you’ve tried with an empty Community folder and it still crashes your computer, you should open a support ticket with PMDG so they can investigate what’s going on.

Interestingly (or not) I don’t have any weird chars in mine, but it is excessively long (17 characters - what was I thinking!?) when I created it a couple of years ago. Quite a few other aircraft won’t accept this, so I usually have to use the number ID instead. The 737 EFB does accept it which is a sim first for me.

It looks like you can change your Simbrief/Navigraph alias on their web site. Not sure if there are any downstream side effects of this, though.

I tied doing that a long time ago and it wasn’t possible then. I just gave it another try, but it changes it on Navigraph account, but doesn’t update/sync it to simbrief. Not a biggie though. and way OT for this thread. Will investigate further.

Maybe it’s old news but PMDG is having a “sale”. $5 off the -700 and -800!! Now they are only $69.95. Get them while they last guys!

i will get the 747-400. have the 736 and thats fine for the 737 series. the others are too similar.

Hi, no i have a standard alias , i use it on the FBW A320 Fine, i have removed all my mods in community folder too

Funny thing is it accepts my numbered id fine but i cant use that for pmdg as it wants my alias

I could change my alias but dont know what impact that will have

For now i can just use maps and import smbrief via the fmc

Just for information with the FBW efb it accepts both simbrief alias or numbered id , wish that was the case for me in pmdg

If i raise a support ticket with pmdg they will probably say its at my end as its not happening to other people so im pretty much stuck

How do I determine which thrust de-rate option to select (if any)? Is it buried in the Sim Brief OFP?

In the Performance tool in the EFB it is displayed on the right

Going by memory (I only have one flight with the EFB so far), the T/O performance page only gives a single percentage number, i.e. 98.2%. How does that translate into the TO and CLB derate settings to use?

It doesn’t, directly. You can manually set the TO in the performance calculator if you wish to use it. Otherwise, the N1% will be at a standard TO. To get the N1% calculated, be sure to enter the SEL TEMP generated by the calculator into the FMC.

I’ve only messed with the tablet a little but I believe it’ll give a realistic double reduction when warranted; that is, a derate with an assumed temp. You enter these options not on the takeoff ref page in the FMC, but on the N1 page. One thing that might be slightly confusing is that instead of referencing a 26k takeoff for instance, the tablet references this as a TO-1, meaning one step of derate (if we’re talking about a 27k -900ER).

So, TO means full rated thrust (could still have an assumed temp.). TO-1 means one step of derate, and TO-2 means two steps of derate.

Then, the SEL temp is your assumed temp; enter that in the SEL box on the FMC N1 page.

Do this correctly, (plus setting your bleeds on or off as specified) and the N1 values shown on the takeoff ref page of the FMC will match what the tablet computed.

Is there no way to just show 1 tablet?
(and not one on the FO side)

Another update soon…
