Try out Pilot2ATC I use it often, works across XP, MSFS etc. http://p2atc.com/
Works really well, give’s good vectors to the runway or assigns STARS or you can randomise it or force it, very flexible, and no you dont have to talk to it, you can also press buttons
Is there a magic trick to getting the Amazon polly voices to work though? I’ve followed the various forums and installed them etc but they don’t ever seem to work in pilot2atc for me at least… thanks!
There are a lot of vids in youtube that show you how to fly the 737. All with PMDG version for Prepar3d, but I bet this videos are valid for MSFS’ 737 version. You can begin to learn right now if you want.
Well, for one thing we’ll finally have a high quality Boeing aircraft in the sim which is very cool. It’s also a plane in common usage all around the world so you can recreate actual flights with it. For example the -800 is the backbone of the local carriers, excluding SAA which operates Airbus. Besides that it’s going to be great to have variety in terms of good airliners.
It’s an iconic aircraft that been in continuous serial production since 1967 and will likely continue for at least another decade or two, which is pretty cool; it’s a Boeing, which many of us prefer in terms of the two main schools of airliner flight control systems design; and PMDG’s rendition of this plane is clearly going to be top-notch in terms of quality and accuracy.
Hi all, real world 737 pilot here. I’ve had MSFS 2020 since it came out, but initially disappointed with the fidelity of the stock aircraft, and thought the PMDG 737 would be released soon afterwards. Once I realised it was going to be a while I went back to DCS but now I’m warming myself up back in MSFS in anticipation, equipped with TM TCA Boeing hardware. In the meantime I’ve been warming myself up on the 747-800 and even with the autopilot mod in is proving to be very unpredictable and frustrating! Here’s hoping PMDG deliver a fully sweet & tested product. I’m sure they will!
Would you be able to expand on any important differences? I didn’t fly airliners in previous Sims so only really have experience of the fbw 320 and the heavy division 787.
Oh man - this is a can of worms that I’m not well-qualified to explain. I’ve been sim-flying Boeings on and off in different sims for decades and the few times I’ve tried an Airbus it just felt “wrong” - different terminologies, different control procedures, different flight management controls, different feel to the flight models … The aircraft just come from two very different “design languages” and paradigms and it’s not easy (for me) to go back and forth between them.
Plus there’s a personal reason for me to want a really good Boeing plane. My first engineering job out of college was for Boeing, albeit in the Missiles & Space Division, not Commercial Airplanes.
