I had a similar problem caused by an add-on – in my case it was the FS2Crew sop2 animated FO – so I’d suspect an add-on first.
In my case, removal and fresh downloads of both products fixed the issue.

I have completely removed this form my PC but alas, still happening. I don’t actually like this FS2crew so have abandoned it
It was on the FS2Crew discord that they suggested re-loading the PMDG would also be necessary.
so i have reinstalled this and will see what it looks like. I will unload and load back the PMDG and if that doesn’t work… well I don’t know
sorted with a fresh install
So how do you completely remove FS2 then as the Discord answer was very patchy
Start out by doing a normal uninstall from Programs selection in Windows Control panel.
Then, check to see if these are still present and delete them:
C:\Users*your user name*\AppData\Roaming\FS2Crew PMDG 737 SOP2 for MSFS
and this folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\FS2Crew PMDG 737 SOP2 for MSFS
Also, since I had the animated FO version as well, I deleted all the folders with names beginning “q-dsn” that were in the community folder.
*(Of course the name would differ if you were using a different SOP)
So I used the uninstall in the folder of FS2Crew and I searched in all folders and apart from the registry all had gone. I then deleted the 737-800 and then reinstalled. I then shut the sim down again and started back up and loaded in with a custom livery and it worked.
However I then came out and loaded in Jet2 and went back into the sim. It happened again. No cockpit. And back out again and then put that original livery and it worked. I have switched off now until Sunday as I am away at the caravan for a couple of days so hopefully Sunday back in and see what happens
It’s kinda really annoying that there is still no way to turn off the EFB. So have to sit there with a bright screen or a stupid QR code the entire flight.
Yes I know you can disable it in the FMC. But that’s ■■■■■■, like every other tablet in the sim you can just turn it off when you’re done with it, like everyone does with their phone or tablet in real life, not sat with it blaring out for hours when not using it.
And how long did it take them to make…
Hmmm, I turn it off after preflight most every flight (to ease the processing load on the Xbox). Try pressing the home button?
Do you not get the horrible QR code when you do this? Or maybe this is just PC?
I haven’t flown the 737/738 for a week or two, but last time I turned off the UFT just got a blank screen. No idea what happens on a PC though.
And how exactly do you turn it off? Because on PC the only thing I can click on besides the home button and the icons is the PMDG logo and that brings me the QR code @dectenor1 was talking about. Plus I’ve just found a strange behaviour when clicking on the top status bar it brings me a Debug icon and when clicking repeatedly it draws a weird Debug icons pattern.
For Boeings and maybe most other planes, are you supposed to hit the toe brakes before retracting the gear after takeoff?
Apologies, it occurs to me that we on Xbox are an update or two behind whatever is current on PC. Could be something has changed. In any case, we are on different versions.
If you can just turn it off with a plain black screen on then you’re actually one or two updates ahead, lol.
I just loaded into the -800 as a test and the current PC version certainly cannot turn off the tablet, nor - as we can in the 77W - remove it from its mount and stow it away. I also don’t see the odd “debug” icons you show in the screenshot from your prior post, no matter where I click around on the tablet.
I was clicking in the left corner, on the status bar where the signal strength is. But that doesn’t bother me much. I just hope they’ll bring the UFT features what we have in the 777 also into the 737 line.
Yeah I clicked all along the upper bar - left, center, right, a few random places in between and all around the screen. Nothing here but the QR code from the PMDG logo, the EFB app and the Performance Tool app. Other that, nada.
I do expect to get some more of the 777 features backported to the 737, but RSR has said some of that effort has gotten back-burnered because of the issue they ran into with bugs in the tablet navdata update process.
Hey, pretty new to the 737 and it’s my first detailed tubeliner in general but very experienced GA sim pilot, far from my first detailed aircraft.
Right now I’m having a problem with the terrain warning system, went haywire right after takeoff and now that we’re climbing past 30,000 feet I think it’s safe to say there’s no terrain I need to pull up for.
I would be very thankful if someone could tell me how to fix or reset it or at least make it shut up.
Edit: Kay… it literally stopped all by itself as soon as I hit submit, but anyone know if that was a weird bug or something I had set up incorrectly?
