PMDG 737 Discussion (PC Version) (Part 2)

I feel like an easy fix is when the cockpit door is closed all pax models are unloaded. You can get the experience of them pre-flight but no FPS hit during flight.

I believe that’s exactly how it is intended to work but is currently executed to different degrees of success. Some will give you the FPS hit simply from turning around, even if the door is closed. All about proper implementation.

Or the Sim gets to have your pax’s sitting above the fuselage or hanging out below - (Asobo 737 version  )

No upgrade price reveal yet?

Can we wager on it?

Ā£70.00 odd if you don’t own 2020 version and 30.00 to 35.00 for the upgrade??:person_shrugging:

What’s your wager prize?

I’ll bet that table doesn’t know what a $20 bill looks like

I think I can convince the Got Friends team to give the Paddle Wheeler to the winner for free!

Hmm, flightdeck2sim said it’s got Common VNAV now, and a full FANS CDU coming.

About time!

If they ask more than $10 for an upgrade I am done with PMDG.

Well it started with Randazzo saying the upgrade would cost ā€œaround a cup of coffeeā€. Now it’s morphed into ā€œa couple cups of coffeeā€. At this rate, it’ll be a Nespresso machine by the time it’s released.

It was a typo; they meant ā€œcups of coffeeā€ in the original post

ā€œCupsā€ (plural) has been stated numerous times on the PMDG forums and in interviews with content creators over the last month or so. My personal expectation is $15 - $20USD per variant. There has been a lot of modeling work done on the new version for 2024, and they have recently confirmed a newer-model upgraded CDU will be coming in a future update. I suspect this latter work is part of either their VPT contract work for Boeing, their own work on an eventual MAX, or both.

That’s fine. It’s impossible to make everybody happy. However, I do not know where the ā€˜upgrade’ idea comes from; perhaps we communicated that incorrectly somewhere. In fact, the 737-800 is almost a completely new product, adding many items that were never included. Took many, many manyears to complete. It is not an FS2020 model that works in FS2024.

We believe that the offer we will make is pretty reasonable; if you feel it is not, you do not buy it. It really is that simple. All the reviewers who have seen the product are extremely happy with it. That’s all that counts for us right now.

I hope you are correct and I was in EXACTLY your camp until I saw Mathijs’post. Now I’m thinking $25-30. I’ll still buy it but surprised they have convinced themselves this is a new product.

Especially for those of us who own 4 variants.

I mean, not gonna lie, I’m gonna buy the 800 no matter what, and likely at least the 700. Though whether I round out my fleet and get the 900 and 600 as well very much depends on the price per variant. But I’m not losing sleep over it either - my burrito tonight at dinner cost me $14, for heaven’s sake. I’ll get much more enjoyment per hour out of the 737.

Same. Except 800 and 900 for me. Sadly, because I’m completely OCD, I’ll probably get the 600/700 too though I think I have flown the 600 exactly once.

:100:

This is a hobby, a relatively cheap one… I used to fly RC and had the cost of my whole PC in the air each time I flew (I used to carry roughly $6k worth of RC stuff each time I went to the field). If PMDG wanted full price I’d pay it, I’ll get hours and hours of enjoyment out of their aircraft. I know enough about dev work to know the sheer number of hours that goes into each product and it’s worth $15-$30 every time

I don’t mind paying for upgrades but it will happen when I can choose liveries

Throwing the challenge down can PMDG get liveries out on marketplace on the same day the plane is launched on marketplace?
