Thanks for the link. I’ll just make sure that I grab some popcorn before going to read a discussion about that topic over there ![]()
Thank you. Hi-Fi is working to make functional their API for weather radars. It’s something.
I have some questions about setting up the FMC. How would I add this departure from KLGA when taking off RW04, Bronx climb. There are no SID:s available for RW04 in the FMC, so I’m assuming I have to add a custom waypoint? Or how would one fly this in real aircraft?
So climb to 500 ft then turn left hdg 360’. How to program that in? Added a screenshot from a real life flight for reference.
Thanks.

You don’t really “program it in” - on the DEP/ARR page, you select the runway, but leave the SID and transition entries blank. The simply program the rest of the flight. For instance, I just generated a plan for a flight to Nashville, which would use the same basic Bronx climb out from 4. The first way point after takeoff is PARKE, which is way out west near Easton, PA. So assuming no ATC instructions to the contrary, I’d simply take off and upon reaching 500’, turn left ~40 degrees to due north, then turn left again direct to PARKE and fly the rest of the route.
Alright, that makes sense. Thanks
In real life would pilots be doing that method, or would they turn north at 500’ and then be under radar vectors (while continuing to climb to 5,000’)?
There’s no SID so it would be whatever Tower told them to do before sending them to Departure. But if flying without ATC, in the absence of a SID, I’d fly whatever was most convenient and economical.
Hey @Morelno. If you’re interested, the real world B737/A330 pilot, a330driver (Emmanuel from the PMDG Tech Team] just flew this exact departure from LGA in an A320, so you can see how he handled the routing [link]. The fact that he is in an A320 for this flight doesn’t impact how he flew the departure.
Hopefully you’ll find this of some interest. Blue skies, my friend.
They released it a week ago ![]()
Anyone know why V speeds between EFB and FMC don’t match up?
Same with the N1 when you set the flex and TO rating? N1 value of EFB does not match that given in FMC.
The N1 values will differ a bit (<2% I think?) due to packs usage. There’s more detail (far) up this thread from the real 737 pilots. For me, V speeds have always been dead-on between FMC and EFB for both takeoff and landing.
When inputting into the FMC the same data that the EFB includes (for example runway slope, wind, dry or wet etc. and ensure weights are the same) the V speeds have matched within 1 knot for me.
That’s using the EFB in the plane, not another available app.
Leaving out the data that’s not in boxes – and therefore not required – may be the reason for the difference in speeds.
So, I haven’t used the 737-800 since SU15.
First flight today, black screens. I have deleted and reinstalled and still get the issue.
I have the marketplace version on PC (RTX 4090 & 7950x3d).
Anyone else had anything similar?
Yes, and heard from others that have the same problem too. Unresponsive cockpit, black screens, yoke turned hard left.
Restarting the flight solves the issue. There were also reports during the beta stage. Don’t know what the current status is
The “Control X” Restart as a way to save a flight in this model and others is something that Xbox flight simmers have been doing before SU15, and perhaps SU14 or 13 as well. Nothing new to the console crew, hope it works for you.
Yes, for some reason the 737 doesn’t seem to load properly for me on the first attempt. But just pressing restart seems to work fine.
Had this for the first time last night post Sim Update 15. A restart of the flight fixed the issue as others have said. Hopefully they can resolve this issue in a hot fix.
Im having some weird flickering around the knobs on the efis, and efis only. Anyone got the same issue.
Several people have reported that reverting to the previous Nvidia driver resolved that issue for them.
